Great weekend/Gone bad trip report!!!!

Hello there. This trip was wonderful as they all are except for the flu thing....but we will get to that later.

Well, here goes. My wife surprised me on Christmas morning with a little box among other gifts. In this this box was a white envelope that said open me. As I opened it it was a letter from "Santa" telling me what a good boy I had been all year and how I deserved alittle something extra for my behavior. To my surprise, DW got us a one night stay at RPR for the following Saturday and I was so excited.


Saturday December 28:

Woke up at 6 a.m. Arrived at RPR by 9:30. Checked in by Dave (although Pia was there.) Got our room keys and headed to the parks. We started with IOA. BOY, were the parks packed. Not sure if I would go back this week any other year. It was just way too congested, but we had a great time. We normally start with Marvel, but this time we started with Seuss. We did CITH, OF2F, and Carrouseussel within 20 minutes with FOTL. Boy how I love that privlege. We then did pics with CITH, and the Who's who were roaming around. We saw the Whobilation show and we loved it. All of the attractions had 60-90 waits, but not us......
We then headed to the Lost Continent and I rode Fire and Ice and as a family we rode kiddie dragon coaster. My son loves it. We then hit Jurassic park, but because it was too cold at first, we just walked around the discovery center.
From there we went to Toon Lagoon and did some shopping at the Betty Boop store of course. The wife deserved it...
We finally ended at the best island of all. Marvel!!!!! Spiderman had a posted time of 90 minutes. We rode twice in 15!!!! We then had some hotdogs chips and drinks at Superhero Dogs and then rode Dr. Doom by myself and the HULK of course. DW and DS rode Storm Force 4 times!!!!!!

After this we walked back down the Port of Entry and headed back to the resort. We checked out our room and then headed to the Studios. Once we got there, we rode Shrek, Jimmy Neutron and Jaws in about 30 minutes time. After this we went to Motown Cafe and had a great steak dinner. The food was alot better than last time I dined there and the atmosphere was better than ever as usual. When we finished we went back to the Studios. Shrek had a time posted of 135 minutes!!!!!!! We were in in about 15....

This is where it went down hill. I started feeling queezy and told my wife that I wanted to go the hotel. She knew something was wrong because I am all about opening and closing the parks. When we got to the room we had our milk and cookies waiting.....and I did not want them...OMG!!!! That is not normal.....LOL....

I took a shower, went to bed and woke up at 1 a.m. viciously ill. We waited until 9 a.m., checked out and went to the ER. My son starting showing symptoms on the drive over. I was bummed because on Sunday we were to have breakfast with CITH at Confisco's and have more park fun, but it just wasn't happening.

Overall, this was a great trip even though it was cut short due to illness. I could not believe this was happening to me, but I still had a great time. Not sure if I would go back during this time next year, but definitely would in early December when it is slower.

I agree with the timing, Spidey. The weekend before is better, but even better than that is when Jess went the 2nd weekend in December. You get most of the holiday stuff with a lot less congestion. It is kind of fun passing thousands in line to do Spidey twice in a row though!
I know that I would be violently ill without a virus if I followed you around. After Dr. Doom IOA would be calling EMS.
Drink lots of fluids and not the Amature's Night kind.

Aw, sorry to hear you got sick. I'm glad you were able to get a lot in before the sickness. Gotta love that FOTL. What a sweet wife you have!

What a wonderful surprise for you. Glad that you had a good time even though you and DS got sick at the end. Hope you are both feeling well now?
