Great unknown tips or secrets!

Hey Janet...they have glass cups for the bathroom. I am going to bring my own paper cups. Never thought of it...but I love the idea.

Those little bathroom cups are on my list to pickup before boarding!

Order a bunch of Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches from room service the night before an excursion. They come to you in the form of Smuckers Uncrustables, so they are super easy to throw in a bag and take with you. It'll save you from buying snacks while you're in port, which, depending on where you are, can be quite pricey!!!

Also, another great item to pack....a very small sized room spray. With multiple people sharing a small space, it really comes in handy for the bathroom. Bath and Body Works and Yankee Candle Company both carry small little spray cans that you can easily pack.

If you plan on doing some duty free shopping while cruising, make sure you price out some of the items that you are interested in BEFORE you sail. My husband and I bought a bottle of a "rare" tequila in Mexico, thinking we got a great deal on something unique, only to find the same item for sale at home at Sam's Club for less money (AND we wouldn't have had to lug it home from Mexico, if we had known!) Same thing goes for perfume, cologne and jewelry! Make sure you're getting a good deal by being knowlegable before you sail!

I will also give my support to the idea of packing lots of various sized ziplock bags. First of all, I always put my toiletries into them before I pack them. That way, if something were to open in my luggage, it isn't going to ruin any clothes, or make a huge mess. I also use them to portion out candy (which I bring with me from home) for visits to the Buena Vista Movie Theater, the Walt Disney Theater or the Ariel View Screen. They can be used for dirty laundry, for wet bathing suits after excursions, and also as a make-shift cooler. When you're getting off the ship, pack the bag with ice and leave room to throw in some bottled water or snacks. There really are TONS of uses for Ziplock Bags! If anyone else has some good ideas, throw them out there!

I'm a big fan of the razor called " Intuition" It has the shaving creme built into the razor so you don't have to pack separately or use soap while standing in the little cubicle shower:) I pack one for every vacation!

When ordering in the restaurants, ask your servers for their opinions. Most of them will be very honest with you and by trying something they like, you may discover something new!

I've even sometimes told them that I can't chose between A and B, so surprise me!! And it always is a surprise!! sometimes with a little extra sumthin from the other choice.

Imagine the surprise if they brought you nothing!! Now that would be a surprise, I done that to hubby when he could not decide what cake he wanted from the bakers, funnily enough he DID NOT see the funny side of that!:lmao:

on our Disney cruise in March, when asked what he wanted for dessert, DH replied NOTHING for me. The brought him a plate with the word "NOTHING" written in chocolate sauce on it. Too cute!!:lmao:

"Nothing". Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

Nobody at our table was expecting this when I confirmed with Ollie that my DH wanted "nothing" for dessert. I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

For the snorkelers....bring a little travel size bottle of baby shampoo and smear into your mask. Rinse a little. You need a small amount on the lens of the mask to stop your mask from fogging up, and it won't burn your eyes like defog can. You can also spit into your mask, but to me it is a major ewww factor. When you apply sunscreen, do not apply to your forehead. Your eyes will burn from the sunscreen. After you are finished snorkeling then *remember* to put it on.I see the debate about shirts and spf clothing. They make rash guard which are spf and they do not float around your body like a tee does. Lastly, we bought bright picture frames luggage tags at target and put our own matching stickers on each bag. Printed out our name, ship and cabin number on one side, and on the other side our home info. Highly visable and unique only to us. Enjoy your cruises! We can't wait...45 more days to go :dance3:

On departure day, if you have the later breakfast seating and you are not in a hurry to leave ship, go to breakfast a little after 8:15, you get a table right away. Stay until 9. When you leave the ship there are no lines to pick up bags or for customs. You walk right through.

Also, if anyone has heard of "lock n Lock" plastic containers, they are much better than zip lock bags (I had one break once in my suitcase - yuck). The lock n locks are hard plastic and have a seal so they are waterproof. I have packed full size shampoos, mouth wash, etc., in my checked baggage and never had a leak. If you use up all your sundries they can be used for wet bathing suits from CC that never seem to dry in time for packing.

Another tip, my husband developed diabetes several years ago, so when we go to any beach or pool he must wear water shoes to protect his feet. I found that they are great for everyone. You can wear them on the beach, for swimming, etc., and never have to take them off. You don't have to worry about the little ones running around bare foot. Before we get back on the ship we take them off and wash them out (they all have a removeable lining), so that we don't carry sand back to our room.

The Group we were sitting with told us NOT to let DCL take our bags when leaving the ship. Last time theirs got lost! We left them in our room and wheeled them off the ship the next day. Not lines or looking for luggage!

Thanks for the tip on removing the veranda table. I am SURE my 3 year old son will do the same!!!
