Great unknown tips or secrets!

Tiny tip. We just completed a cruise (not DCL but Celebrity).
We brought LED candles with us for gentle light in the cabin (and a night light, which everyone knows about, for the bath). They were great. Low light, little flicker, romantic and no fires!
I got them at Michaels. With the 40% off coupons that they often give, they were 6 for $6.:)

Hi,
This may have already been mentioned, but it's good to have a small flashlight in case the power goes off. This happened to us last month while we were eating dinner at Palos. The lights were only off for about 8-10 minutes, and the emergency generators has already kicked in, but we still would have liked to have a flashlight.....Vicki

I have a new one that can be used for any vacation. I got this idea when I was planning our first trip 7 years ago and have not seen it around for a long time but it is one of my favorites. Before you go on your trip go to the perfume counter at the store and find a new fragrance that makes you feel and smell wonderful. DO NOT use that perfume until the day you leave for your trip and use it only while you are away. When you get home switch back to what you usually use and then when you need a pick me up use your vacation fragrance. It really works. It has been 7 years but when I put that fragrance on I am right back in the bathroom of the cabins at Fort Wilderness. When I come downstairs my kids all say "you have your Walt Disney perfume on". Something about our sence of smell being closely linked with memory.

Here's a small tip...doesn't cost a thing.

Attend the DVC presentations during the week. Usually less than an hour, and they have a $300 shipboard credit that they give away. 2 meetings each cruise. Doesn't matter if you're a member or not.

We've won it twice actually, in the 4 cruises we've done.

I always put one suitcase inside of the other. (Just one size smaller works best). Then pack as usual. Then when we get there, we have one whole empty suitcase to fill up with all our fun souvenirs, etc...:cool1: Just don't go over your luggage limit.:sad2:

I'm going to use the double suitcase suggestion for sure!
Thanks for sharing!
Jennifer

This is great. Seems I always come back with more than I went with, vacation or business.

Thanks for all the great tips. we leave 3 wks today and I spent one night going over all the tips and writing things I will use down. Things to pack and things to remember on board. Hopefully there will be things I can add when we get back:goodvibes

Subscribing also - thank to everyone for sharing great info. :)

To ALL who want to subsribe to this or any thread.

Rather than creating a post just to subscribe to a thread there's a much easier way and probably better for the system. While reading a thread that you like scroll to the top of the thread and you'll notice a menu option called "THREAD TOOLS". Click that then a drop down menu will appear. Click "SUBSCRIBE TO THIS THREAD". Done! Wasn't that easy? Hope this helps.

I know this is on the cruise thread...but it works for WDW or most any trip...I was always making a list of things to take and do before each trip...now, I have made a list that is saved on the computer...and as I realize things I have forgotten...I can go in an adjust, then when the next trip comes up...just print off another list...

I do this too- It helps me pack so much quicker. DH thinks I'm a little OC for doing it, but he's never missing anything when I pack now is he??:lmao:

Another tip for the cruise or any vacation....use your ziplocs (yeah, me too!) to take a supply of disposable bath cups. I always get the cute disney ones. Then we don't have to use one of our 4 glass ones (that they provide with our ice bin) for brushing our teeth.

Also, I agree with the room service for "stocking up." We ordered chocolate milk or O.J. and put it into sippy cups when DDs were 1 or 2. It was great to have something for her to have in the morning while we got ready for breakfast. Even as they got older, it was nice to have something. Plus then I added crackers or the PBJs to my orders. I always did it the night before because we don't set alarms on vacation- we wake up when we wake up (usually still at 7a.m. because of DD6) But on the off chance that she would sleep in til 8a.m., I didn't want to schedule room service delivery ahead of time. Just order the night before and put it in the fridge!
