Our first night there we are hoping to get to MK for the fireworks and Spectromagic. However, we'll be cutting it short due to DS needing a nap as soon as we can get into our room. We'd like to do a TS meal near or in the MK. I had scheduled LTT with the character meal, however, I'm a little worried that he may have a freak out moment since this will be his first time seeing them. Any other ideas of where to eat that's close by? We are doing Chef Mickey's later that week.

Love Ohana at the Poly. Great for kids as they do limbos, teach you to dance, and use brooms to push around cocunuts. The food is great too! It is the only one we are returning to this trip and I have 3 little ones.

Are there any characters at this meal? I scheduled a character for later that week so that he could warm up to them or at least see them out at the parks before being approached in an enclosed place by Goofy who is way over 6 feet tall.

No, not for dinner. There is an "mc" of sorts that leads the evening activities but this is not a character. The woman that was doing it one of the nights we were there was FANTASIC though!

Characters can be tricky at young ages so warming him up while you are out at the parks is a good idea.

Have a great trip!

Thank you so much!!! I'll be calling and doing Ohana if possible instead of LTT!

At the Poly, you could do Kona Cafe or Ohana (doesn't have characters at night). At the WL, there is Whispering Canyon.

The Limbo contest (My friend and I got to hold the limbo stick):

Our Wonderful MC handing out Leis:

Cocunut races:

Limbo Contest or Parade (they pass out instruments)

A Group shot (Gives you an idea of the interior)

With Ohana you can see the fireworks from there and they turn down the lights and pipe in the music. We have watched it from the beach on the Poly too, right before the fireworks start the Electrical Parade comes by the beach which your DS would love to see!

Ohana sounds like so much fun! I'm torn...I'm going to look over both menus and see which one would suit us best. Thank you for the suggestions!

good luck with your decision. on our last trip we ate at both places and i have to say it would be tough to pick one. I wanted to try O'hanas but i wasn't sure if my husband would really enjoy the menu, he is kind of a steak and potato man however he loved it and the sauces for dipping are so yummy and i had never had bread pudding and it was so good. and the kids really enjoyed it however the same can be said at WC although they did embarass my husband :rotfl: we really enjoyed both
