Recently returned from a 2 week trip to WDW renting an ECV from Randy's Mobilityand I must say that was the way to go. I previously had rented from Disney at each park, but took a risk if there would be an ECV available. So this time I had a stress fracture in my foot that I knew all the walking would kill me, so decided to rent for the full two weeks.
Randy's was fantastic. He was there at our resort at the appointed time and picked up the ECV at another disney resort when we departed. Very reasonable and very thorough.
Thank you to all the posters on this board as I took lots of your advice. I did request a medical necessity for a 1st floor room at AllStars Music and at the Polynesian. Both resorts were very accomodating.
We rented an ECV that would fit in our van so we never used the buses and the monorail was fabulous at the Poly. Everyone is so nice and helpful.
Yes, you do have to be so careful for other people not paying attention and drive very defensively. I kept my control on the lowest turtle speed when there were big crowds.
I didn't have any trouble at either resort's pools. The Poly would get crowded but I always managed to find a spot to park the ECV by the table and chairs.
It was a great trip and I thank all of you again for such wonderful suggestions.
