We just got back from the 4 night trip on the Magic and had a fantastic time!
I did want to warn people that there are bitting gnats on Castaway Cay on
the bike trail. Pack some bug repellant if you are planning on doing the bike
or walking along the trail. My DD, DH and I all got bit. The red welts show up
about 2 days later and boy do they itch! DD has them bad. One of the gals serving drinks on the beach said the bugs come out over the whole island in the evenings but we were off the beach by then. We had no trouble with this our last two trips but this year they were bad. No problem on the beach, just on the bike/joging trail. I just wanted to warn everyone.

Otherwise wonderful trip and yes we rebooked for our 4th trip. 7 days
Spring Break 2006.

Hope everyone else has as great weather and trip as we did.

Thanks for letting us know. We used to have this problem in the keys. We used witch hazel. It really takes care of the itching as well as the swelling and redness.

We had trouble on our first two cruises with bugs at Serenity Bay. On our last two cruises, though, we didn't notice any bugs.

I always bring skin so soft with me just in case (wish I had that for our first two cruises, though). It's tough to kick back and relax when you're being eaten alive! :earseek:

AAhhhhhhhhh, the answer to the age old question........"Will the ship ever stay overnigh at CC?" Too many bugs at night!!!! I heard they are worse mow due to the standing water from the hurricanes....we saw non at the Family beach on our Thanksgiving sailing.......twice!!!
