My husband & I just got back from our trip and it was great. I got upgraded to a King Suite & I am spoiled now for anything less. There was a flat screened TV in both rooms, not that I watched much tv. It was our anniversay and we recived a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Everyone there was so helpful and anxious to please. I want to thank everyone from the DISboards for all the information that I got. I put it all to good use and that helped make my trip very organized and wonderful. Its a great site to get tips. Hope everyone else who is going has a great time!

Glad to hear you had a wonderful time.... :goodvibes

is a good distance from the paks and city walk, easy taxi over is there a bus, any brkfst ideas, nice pool..is there a room you had picked out first and it is my birthday the arrival day.. how did you get an upgrade, did you tell them before...THANKS

I'll try to answer all your questions. There is a water taxi (free) that takes you from your hotel to City Walk or you can use the beautiful walkway which is about a 10 min. walk. From City Walk to the parks are only a couple of minutes. About my upgrade, I had booked thru Universal for a package deal. I had also joined Loew's First, thinking I would be elligible for the perks. After reading the Disboards, I found out that you were not entitled to the perks if you booked thru a 3rd party (which I did). About 5 days before my trip I wrote a letter to RPR and told them that I was disappointed that I would not be entitled to the perks and that my husband & I would be celebrating our anniversary that week we were there and that I was excited about staying onsite for the first time. I had asked them for a refurbished room with a nice view if possible. When we got there and checked in, they wished us a Happy Anniversary and told me we would be in a King Suite (it was great) When we got back to the room at night, there was a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Everyone was terrific there and eager to please. I did not eat breakfast, so I can't help you there. There are a few restaurants there to eat. The buffet as you probably already know is $17.00 a person or you can order ala carte. Anything else you would like to know, just ask.

the breakfast buffet at hrh and rph i have enjoyed many times.

to me, it is worth it.

When we had the buffet breakfast at RPH we never ate lunch that day we were so full from breakfast! We only had a hot dog around 3pm and then had dinner about 8pm that night. It is definitely worth the $17, best buffet I have been to. There is also cheaper fare down at CW, Pastamore Express window serves a nice breakfast and the Crescent Moon (I think that's the name) when you first enter IOA also has some breakfast sandwiches. We loved RPH, the pool, the location, everything was very, very nice. We were there last in 2004. HTH :thumbsup2

same here. ate so much at the breakfast buffet, couldn't even start my usual snacking until about 3:30 in the afternoon.....

the express windows at city walk resturants have some of the best deals for breakfast also....

and cheaper than the buffets.

You see, that is why I love these threads, I didn't know I could use my AAA card to get a discount at this place, thanks for the tip! :cool1:

I always carry my AAA card and ask - the worst that can happen is they say no discount (and that very rarely happens) I think the stand alone food/drink carts do not take the discounts.

I'm partial to those King Suites, too.

I was just talking to my wife about our next trip down and I think we're going to do RPR Club this time.

Welcome back. I am glad you had a great time!:thumbsup2 We are going in Nov for our first time & I can hardly wait. I am driving my family crazy talking about it all the time!:rotfl:

AAA discount on breakfast buffet?

Thx so much!

Which one? The one in the hotel? If so, I'm not sure...I'm not positive the answer is 'no' because we've never eaten at the breakfast buffet, but someone else would know. If that someone else doesn't know, call the hotel and just ask. ;)
