Great trip, 1/18 -1/24

We just returned from our stay at POR 1/18 - 1/24. We had a great trip wanted to pass along info about our highlights.
Great food! We had brkfst at Restaurantosaurus in AK, dinner at Crystal Palace, Ohana, and Cape May Cafe. No complaints about any of them, all delicious! Highly recommend any of them.
Enjoyed POR, but liked CBR better, we stayed there 6 yrs ago.

One of my 10yr old DS's highlights was in EC, Japan, they had a tank w/ oysters, you pay 12.96 to choose one to be opened and get a pearl. His was a golden 7 1/2 mm, one of the largest they had found, the salesperson played a drum and made a big deal out of it. It was great! We also took his picture with a different type of hat on from each country, that was fun.

This trip was great as far as character interaction as well, we had always gone at more crowded times and didn't see nearly as many. I saw several children that had basically filled their autograph books.

Highly recommend going in January. We didn't get to do the water parks, but the short almost nonexistent waits were well work sacrificing that. Our longest wait was 10 min. and that was on Sun.

Welcome back!! What a neat idea about the hats, I always seem to take a picture of my son with a Goofy hat on. I like the oyster pick, I bet your son was thrilled. Where did you stay at PO-R? What was your room number? I also like CBR better, it's my favorite moderate.

We were in the mansion section, Parterre Place rm #9502. We were on the parking lot side and pretty far from the food court and the bus stop. It wasn't bad, except for getting off the bus and having to walk back and get our mugs and go back to the food court. The whole place is beautiful, though.

Thank you for your report. My two DS would love the pearl "fishing". Thanks for the tip. We have PS for the Breakfast at AK the 11th. I've heard it's a lot of fun. Glad you had a great time!!

Thank you so much for sharing the info about the pearls. My DS is 11 and would definitely love that. We leave on the 26th.

We went to AK on Sun and it didn't seem the least bit crowded until about 1 and even then the waits weren't bad, nothing compared to peak times. Monday we visited family in Sarasota for the day. That evening went to DTD, somewhat crowded. There was definetly a presence of people as the hrs of the days went on, but still short waits, only used 1 fast pass at MK on Th for BTM but wait was only 10 -15 min. anyway.
As for temps it was pretty cold Sat night when we arrived but it warmed up each day, wore shorts from 7:30 -10 on Wed and was not cold. By Th night it was coat and glove weather.
