E-Bay saved me so much money this weekend. I bought a lot of 20 pins (also bought 6 from disney shopping-had to keep 1 of the LE 1 heart Mr. Toad) so a total of 25 pins and DH and DS still ended up purchasing pins to trade- OMG!! They have become resolute to find every Cast Lanyard Pin in existence. Of course my son kept running off and trading unsupervised (only with CM's-nearby in hotel gift shops- we went to every hotel on sunday) and ended up with a chip-n-dale dessert pin missing some enamel- 'cest la vie. But I could not believe how many pins they traded. I was looking all weekend and only found 2 of the parking lot sign pins I was missing- but that's the difference I like to find what I'm looking for and they want to trade for anything it seems. Of course they have their favorites, but lately they are bent of trying to aquire all cast lanyard pins possible. I am going to have to start scouring e-bay and dis. shopping for cheap pins or I'll go broke.
We started trading (for fun) 3 years ago, last year my MIL joined in- more of collecting than trading, although she did some trading this trip. and NOW my FIL has started in. It's crazy, people keep blaming me for their pin addictions. My DH is now ready to start going to pin events and trading nights- looking for more special and valuable pins which we said we would NOT do. So you see how this escalated.

Anyway, we had a great time and found some really cool pins. 3 magical musical moments and 2 from the 100 magical moments collection (NBC and Sleeping Beauty's Castle) so all in all a good time- we had fun going to all the gift shops too(Poly, GF, Contemp., WL)

Been there.....done that.....welcome to the club!

t,

Thanks for your post!

We leave next Tuesday and DD (12) is the trader. We have about 50 traders put together. She looks for the Cast Lanyard ones, Chip and Dale and Star Wars.

She'll be excited to know someone is seeing lanyard pins out now. She got many good lanyard pins at the Pin Trading Nights that Disney USED TO have at a couple of the resorts and was bummed that Disney stopped that.

Make sure you check out the wilderness lodge. They have a pin book at the pin cart there that has a lot of Cast Lanyard pins. Of course my parking lot pins only grew by 2 but I did finally get one from Animal Kingdom. There still are some trading nights and I think still some trading in downtown disney- we just took the day to go hotel hopping on the monorail.
we took 1. the bus from CSR to MK. 2. the ferry from MK to Poly for lunch (kona Cafe is our fave!) 3. monorail to GF then to Contemp. 4. Ferry from contemp. to WL 5 ferry from WL to MK back on the bus to the hotel where my DH informed me that no matter how much begging and pleading I did to stay an extra day that it would suck to leave the next day just as much.
Fair Warning-Reality bites.

Also at the WL, {unless its changed} they have a corkboard with only lanyard pins. You need to ask to look at it, they don't just keep it out. They'll only accept other lanyards that aren't already on the board. Nice to know in case you have doubles of a lanyard pin.

We just got back a week ago and my daughter was able to get most all of the series 4 lanyard pins over the 6 days we were there. In fact we left a lot of lanyard pins that we saw becuase we already had them. We saw many each day we were there.

All this is great to know!

We were there in May of this year so she has a very good start on series 4 and picked up some of the real good ones at pin trading nights at the resorts. I realize they probably stopped doing that because of the 'sharks'--maybe they were bringing all their neighbor kids to get certain pins for them, Idon't know. I did observe a father being very demanding with his 4yr old insisting he get this or that pin and the kid was getting upset! BUT there were also some very nice adults who would go down the line of kids and show all their extra lanyards and trade any extra for anything the kids had!

We'll try to get over to the WL to check their book! We've also found that sometimes the front desk and concierge cms at the resorts can have very good pins. Just hope I don't have to buy any extras this trip for traders!

Thanks again!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....Say it ain't so :guilty: ! Next you'll be telling me that Sandra isn't there anymore and she's one of our all-time favorite CMs.

So, let me get this straight...
No more Pin Trading Nights at any WDW resorts AND
No more Cast Lanyard board at WL Lobby pin cart?
Speaking of regularly-scheduled pintrading opportunities, do they still even do that "Pin Jeopardy" board in the walkway near Mission:Space? I've also seens a "board" at PinCentral one time...is that still being done?

I believe you really I do, Disneyland_emily, but I'd like some recent WL visitors to confirm this, I also want to know if this is permanent or temporary.

agnes!

Bump!
Anyone have the scoop on the Wilderness Lodge lobby pin cart & their (possibly-discontinued) cast-lanyard pin trading corkboard? Also does anybody know if Sandra is still there?

Thanks,
agnes!
