Great time with peanut allergies at WDW

We are just back from our trip and DS 3 has severe peanut/tree nut allergies - everything went great !
I felt so comfortable, he was able to have more things than I thought he would; even more than last year I think (I'm thinking candies etc).
Thanks to the person who gave me the tip about the McD's ice cream at DTD - he had that, we had Ghirdelli's and everyone was happy!

All in all, I felt better there than a vacation anywhere else. They're used to dealing with special needs and are very accomodating .

Thanks for letting us know your trip went well. Disney is really terrific for food allergy folks. It's one of the few places we go that we don't get looks like we just stepped off a flying saucer from Saturn when we bring up the kids' nut allergies.

Agreed! Their knowledge made it less stressful for me, not to mention that much safer for HIM.

You're right about that! I feel they understand my concerns and are as serious as I am about keeping my peanut and tree nut allergic DD8 safe. I'm more relaxed and my DD is, too. She's absolutely a different child at WDW -- and not because of the parks, but because she feels free to eat what she's been told is safe without that nagging worry in the back of her mind that dinner may result in a trip to the emergency room.

Now you know why we bought into DVC!!!
