First of all we had a great time. We stayed January 30 - February 1

Booked the APH rate of $129 per night. Parking is now an additional $10 per day (I thought it was $8 last year when we stayed). Which gets me to the point of the buttttt. I felt like I was being soaked for every penny at times. Denied upgrades even though hotel had to be 40-50% capacity at best. I was told I could not get any Lowes benefits or upgrades since I booked APH rate. I would think their thinking should be the direct opposite since I AM a APH holder and in a way a "shareholder" so to speak you would/ should/ could want to KMA and provide me some upgrades or freebies?? We still spent plenty of money at the parks, restaurants and souveniers. And with the hotel not being close to capacity its not like they were turning away business or doing us a favor to make space.
Our FOTL privileges did not hardly mean anything this trip. Parks were not full at all. It was still nice to use the FOTL even though we didn't need to. And at a APH type rate the hotel is worth staying at, however, speaking of my nickel and diming.....Local calls (ordering a pizza) were $1 each.

Really enjoyed the parks and of course Margaritaville as usual. Also enjoyed not paying an extra $100 per night for the Club level. We were in our rooms from about 9PM to 9AM. Enough to shower watch tv and go to bed. Even as cool as it was (relatively speaking, we are from Iowa, If youcouldn't guess) we used the pools and whirlpools each evening. Pretty much had them to ourselves. Just a couple other hearty souls around.

All in all a very good time as always. Kind of funny after I just read over this it seems like I am complaining that I did not get more satisfaction out of my FOTL :teeth: Kind of like when on vacation to Florida from the Midwest I would like the weather to be absolutely cold, snowy and miserable back home.

Which resort did you stay at? There is no doubt that they squeeze all the $ they can out you. I called my kids from the room on my cell that I had given them to take to the parks. They had just got out of the elevator on our floor (about 200 feet away) and since the cell had a different area code I was charged over $3. I just got a confirmation from PBH that says parking will be $7. I'm going to take a copy just in case they try $10 on me.
Did you make it to the Outback? :offtopic: They were robbed, too!

We stayed at RPR. Yeah I guess we took for granted local calls were free....silly us.

I swear last year we paid 7 or 8 dollars a night to park last year at RPR. Not sure why the different hotels would have different rates??

Reference Outback...would have been nice to let the players on the field decide it...And yes I was there

parking at rph is $10/night.

i booked there for a fall trip and it was listed on the confirmation email they sent me.
