I frequently go thrifting about 3 times per month. Two weeks ago I cam across a singer sewing machine, model 1525. The box and packing was like new so I thought I would give it a try. I went on half price day, so the machine cost me $17.50. This has to be one of my best buys. The machine works great. It was missing the instruction manual but I was able to download a manual for free. I am so excited about this find, I wanted to buy a new machine and was starting to look around. All I need it for is basic sewing, nothing fancy and it works great.

Also found a new Coach handbag, the real deal for $20.00 and a Kathy Van Zeland bag for $12.50. Both in excellent condition.

Just wanted to share.

Love thrift shops! My favorite buy was a D&B bag for $6. And my mom bought a gorgeous purse for $20 not knowing what it was.... I checked the name Brahmin and its a swanky European brand and the bag is worth like $250 ... Who knew!

Awesome deals !

the stores around here have become very expensive.
Salvation Army and Savers are pricing like antique stores. The Good Will store is half hour away but might go there this week.
Last year I did buy a handbag all leather, brand new for 10, I looked up the name and it was a 300.00 bag.

That is how they are in my area in FL. I have given up thrifting and only do yard sales now.

I miss the days 20 years ago when my friends and I hit all the thrift stores once a week. I still use many items I got for practically nothing back then.

Best deal ever on childrens and baby clothes at a place in WV. It was like a big warehouse and you could fill a 30 gallon trash bag for $5.

It was all piled on tables so digging was mandatory. We always found lots still with tags and many high end brands.

Before we all moved south, my married DD (childless at that time) and I spent quite a few Saturdays digging for the good stuff.

We ended up with more than a dozen bags. We washed, sorted, and stored it all in plastic bins and brought to FL with us.

Her oldest turned four this month and she is just now having to buy him clothes. He will be going from designer labels to Walmart clothes. :-)
