Great scanner update!

Okay.... so admittedly I have never used or tried any other scanner, so I am no expert. But DH recently bought an HP scanjet 3970 because it has the ability to scan slides and negative. They come out GREAT!!! Most of my family's photos prior to about 1980 are on slide.... our slide projector goes through a bulb every time you use it and now the bulbs are almost impossible to find. Plus we haven't even been able to find a new slide projector anywhere! ANYHOW, we bought this scanner and I scanned a bunch of slides of my parents' house being built in 1964/65. Fortunately they were great quality slides and the pictures are great. Even some of the lesser-quality slides I was able to enhance and improve on. Next I'm going to scan the slides of our 1983 MK/Epcot visit! Just thought you all might like to know about this!.........................P

Thank you for the info about the HP scanner. We're looking for a scanner that will also do negatives & slides. I'll pass along your comments!
