Great rental car rate--$439/wk!!!!!

I'm sure you read that and thought I was crazy, right? Well, we have some first timers coming with us on our trip this year and they have not been interested in some of the great tips I have (imagine that).

We leave in 2 weeks (yes, for Pres week) and she still hasn't rented a car. Last night she finally emails me and says she got this great rate that includes unlimited miles for $439!!!! She said she is so psyched!

This is the same person that is landing at midnight on Sat (wasting a whole day of their week long trip) so that she could get cheaper airfare. ???

She still hasn't purchased her Disney tickets and thinks she'll be albe to get 4 tickets for 4 people for 4 days for $450!!!

I'm going crazy not to get involved but I think I'm going to blow!!! I can easily save her $200 on her car rental today.

So should I get invovled of keep my mouth shut?

Well because we know soooo much more then they do it is so hard to not help. What you can do is tell her you were playing around with the rental car codes you have and email her the quote you get. Kindly ask her if these are the right dates and times because your not sure how you found one so much cheaper...LOL

If you do not "get involved it will bother you that she paid so much so you might as well help her out.
Now the ticket deal I would not tell her she is wrong...but maybe email her ticketmania website where it shows how much a four day ticket is.What she saves on the car can be spent on her tickets...

I vote yes to help her on the car..

i did talk to her and she told me her rate was with a discount!!! I gave her the info for a rate that's $200 cheaper and she was shocked at how "frugal" I was!!

i didn't have the heart to tell her that I actually have a larger car than she and mine was another $100 cheaper!!!

I think you should help her out. Find a better deal for her, and then e-mail her the details (cost, rental company, codes, things like that).

If she doesn't follow up, then it's her fault. But you should at least do the research and try to help.

I did help her out, I felt too bad not to. i gave her all the info, all she has to do is book it. She won't be able to get the rate I got because I booked it so long ago and the rates are definitely not going to drop that low again for Pres Week.

Now she tells me she is planning to wake up late and leisurely stroll over to the parks on Pres Weekend. AAAAHHHHHH!! It's killing me!!!

It sounds like you've done what you can for her. The ball's in her court now. If she wants to pay $439 for a car instead of $200-$300 for a car, there's nothing you can do to change her mind. She'll have to learn on her own.
