I have cancelled our 'day room' on the Sofitel website. With VAT is was almost £85. British Airways holidays were offering a room to accomodate us and the little one (dd9 can sleep in the room with my parents-in-law) INCLUDING breakfast that we have to do as dd loves it so much - for £142.50. It was even cheaper on other days of the week. Since breakfast is £17 / head, it's not that much difference in price - plus I went through Quidco for 6% cashback. At least our holiday won't start with an argument at the Sofitel repetion desk!
Just thought I would let everyone know in the event anyone ekse was getting cold feet
The problem we have had with Holiday Extras is that if you select a room from 2 adults + 1 child, you are allocated a family room which is ££££, whereas with BA (or the Sofitel direct), you can book a normal double room with an extra bed.
I don't think the rate you have seen includes breakfast - it certainly doesn't mention it, and from previous experience, rooms at the Sofitel don't include breakfast unless otherwise specified.
LOL you chicken I'm gonna hang in there, I still havent had an email saying theres anything wrong, I've checked that by clicking the box stating its a day rate isnt really a get out of jail free card for them as with the nightly rate quoted as well nothing on the booking form is actually proved to be corect - including the box for accepting the terms. So - when I get there they will either want my money or not ....

I am a chicken, I know But given the breakfast cost on top, it was much of a muchness. I don't blame you for hanging on in there though - I think you'll be fine - legally, at it's best, the terms are confusing, if not completely in your favour. GL!

its adding and exciting extra to our holiday LOL!! If they dont honour the price I'm quite to prepared to pay the proper rate, I always have in the past, but I'll fight like a goodun to get the deal they quoted ..... trading standards wise they really messed up with that one!
I've just booked the Hilton (thanks Wilmabride!) in an executive room for £47 tesco vouchers. Free drink and nibbles in the evening and breakfast in the morning. OK, it's not a Disney trip but still a great way to start!
Have emailed Sofitel yesterday asking for them to confirm my dates, room details and rate of 65GBP + Vat per room per night, making a total of 152.75GBP for our one night stay .... and they wrote back confirming all details.
