GREAT PARNASSUS Cancun

My SIL stayed there and wasn't happy, but she tends to be a grump. :hyper:

We stayed at Gran Caribe Real with our kids and really liked it.

We stayed there once with our kids and thought it was great value for the price we paid. It is loud with lots of kids around so be prepared for that. The building tends to echo due to the hallways and building shape being like a cruise ship. My kids loved the kids club, pools and were never bored. We had a family suite there and the kids loved the bunk beds, but we did miss having a mini fridge in the room with drinks.

We have also been to the Gran Caribe Real and they loved that place even more and it is the only resort we have visited more then once. Also had a family suite there with bunks and the mini fridge. Great kids club and decent food. The staff were wonderful as well.

Stayed there once, it was fun. It was loud and a lot of kids...but still fun.

Thanks everyone I think we are going for it. The jet blue flights coming home are crazy:crazy2:

We stayed in 2009 for 1 night, checked out and moved to a different resort. It was awful (Excellence Playa Mujeres = heaven). The food wasn't edible, the pool was disgustingly gross, the AC didn't work in our room and the shower didn't drain. The pool is pretty awful and small for a resort and the beach is terrible.

We paid for club level and they closed the club area because of low occupancy. So we couldn't get the higher shelf drinks or more private/better breakfast.

It just wasn't taken care of or run well. It might have changed over the past 4 years but we will never give it another chance. We went while I was having a miscarriage and it was a difficult time for us, I just wanted to relax and it wasn't possible. We also went in the middle of the swine flu outbreak so we went with an amazing deal. We ended up getting EPM for only $400, the lobster, beach and luxurious rooms were well worth the upgrade. Our flights were empty and both resorts were only around 15% occupancy. The only guests at GP seemed to be locals taking advantage of super low rates. I just couldn't understand how the GP could be so bad when there were so few guests.
