Hi Guys !!

I promised that I would update as soon as I had news to update and I think this is the time to do it. For those who know of my fiancee (shyboy72), he had an MRI on Monday. This was a checkup and kind of decision maker of whether or not he has to be proactive and go the next step (which is chemo). Luckily the MRI showed that the tumor in his brain did NOT grow back and he is healthy and healing well !! They said for now, we wait another 3 months and do another MRI checkup. I thank god that he is doing well and has been back to work since July !

For those who don't know, this is the story of what happened to my fiancee :

A couple of months ago my fiance was paintballing in Sacramento. During the tourney he got shot in the head with a paintball gun. It welted pretty good and he was complaining about headaches. He scheduled an appointment with a doctor and he had an x-ray. The techs were a bit worried and had him take another. They then proceeded to give the news
to his regular physician. She said that they found a mass in his brain (this had nothing to do with the paintball injury). They then had him get an MRI to confirm what was going on. During this, we were trying to live life as usual, but when a doctor tells you that you might have brain cancer how can you be calm ?

Anyway, on Wednesday May 30th, my fiancee, his mom, my aunt, and I went to the hospital in Redwood City to meet with a neurological surgeon to talk about his MRI. Pretty much what happened was the doctor explaining that he had to get the tumor out right away and that it looked pretty benign (not cancerous). They at first scheduled it for the week after, but pushed it up to that Friday. This gave everyone a shock because there was not enough time to process everything that had happened.

In the end, the surgery was a success. They got almost all of it out (they couldn't get all of it out because it was by the speech center of his brain and they kept him awake so they could talk to him and make sure they were not damaging him; he started talking funny towards the end of the surgery) and he is now all better and pretty much back to normal. Of course it took a couple of days, but he is such a strong man. I look up to him so much because of how well he handled everything. I was so worried the whole time. I love this man SO much and care about him beyond belief. He is my best friend and it would have broken me completely if anything had gone wrong. By the grace of god he is great. He is such a trooper and I can't believe how amazing he is.

Yay!!!
I'm glad that worked out.
Now we can all scream on DL rides in a month in a half!!! :goodvibes

Oh thank god everything seems to be okay. Congratulations, and you guys definitely need a celebration.

Thanks everyone !!!

We're definitely going to spend the time celebrating and having an AWESOME time. When we get back I will post the trip!

Oh thank goodness! I'm so glad for both of you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for continuing recovery!

Was that Kaiser in Redwood City? They have some really great staff in radiology there. Very caring individuals!

So happy for you:goodvibes . Not that my emotions are going crazy already, being pregnant and all, but now all the kids are asking why mommy is crying. I keep telling them they are good tears. All I can say is God is great, good luck to the two of you and will keep you in our prayers.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! We had to cancel a trip in 2002 due to a cancer diagnosis. Let me just tell you, that when we finally made it to DL a year later the trip was absolutely amazing! Just walking down Main Street knowing the cancer was gone after all we had been through in the previous year brought tears to my eyes. I hope you have the most amazing trip ever! After all this you deserve all the magic Disney has to offer.

Aww! Jazzy! I’m so happy he’s better!

It’s kind of weird thinking what if he didn’t get hit by that paintball if he would have ever known it was there, you know? It makes you think the paintball kind of saved his life!!

When you first posted awhile back that you guys had to cancel your trip in June it made me so sad! I would have been a complete MESS if that was my DBF. You’re a strong girl too! I can’t imagine going through something like that with someone you truly love.

Now you guys can go to Disneyland and celebrate! WOOHOO!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo:
