Friday a friend and I went to Yale-New Haven Hospital to sign consent forms to begin a paired exchange search. As she is not a match for me, they will look for other like pairs and arrange a swap of donors. It could be a multi-pair exchange depending. I am told on average the wait is 6-9 months so 2015 should be a very good year for me :)

That is such excellent news!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love a great start, and good news! please keep us posted.:goodvibes

If you have any questions about the transplant stuff, give me a shout. DH is now 7 weeks post-transplant (kidney), so it's all really fresh in my mind.

(((good vibes))))

Thanks, sorry just saw this now. I did ask a lot of questions from my coordinator. KNow it will be around a 5 day stay (if things go well) and 2-4 weeks no driving and 6-8 weeks no work. I did hear day one after transplant you are sleeping a lot and then day two they want to get you out of bed. I don't book trips now until the last possible moment. Because of dialysis I have to give 30 days notice so I am looking at Disney/Universal for July 11-19 (just returned from Myrtle Beach). I do want to go to Disney/Universal one more time before my transplant as it will be quite some time for a return trip.
