Aha, a chance to force one of my favorite anecdotes into a thread! Back about 20 years ago a friend and I were leaving DL and walking back to the hotel when we saw a long line of people over by an employee area. We wandered over and asked a nice lady what everyone was standing in line for. She said that DL would show Disney movies after-hours for employees and their families in the theater where they do Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, and the line was people waiting to see Great Mouse Detective. We thanked her for the info and were walking away when she said, "My kids said they didn't want to come tonight so I have two extra tickets, would you like to join me?" Uh, yeah! Yeah we did!
We had a great time chatting with her in the line about what it was like to work at DL, then saw the movie (which we thought was surprisingly good), and then exited out the front where we got to see Main Street and the castle with nobody there -- not just very low crowds, but absolutely nobody because the park had already been closed for three hours. It was nice that a CM would be willing to sprinkle pixie dust on guests even when she was off duty. I'll never forget that night, or that movie.
To pretend this is part of the thread I will say this: on certain rare occasions, you can actually see Great Mouse Detective inside the parks, but I wouldn't count on it.
