Great Lock For Strollers

We went to Disneyland for 5 days in November and brought our own stroller. For the first time we used something called a buggyguard. It was a great thing to have if you are worried about someone taking your stroller (it does happen in the parks). It attaches to the frame of the stroller and has a retractable cord that you can thread through one of the back wheels and back to the device to lock. If someone wanted to take your stroller they would have to pick it up and carry it as the back wheels would no longer move. As far as the combination goes, you set your own so it is easy to remember. I just wanted to put this thread out there because if I knew about this lock I would have been using it years ago on our trips to the parks :).

Thanks for sharing your recommendation. I do seem to recall reading on these boards, however, that the CM's do not appreciate it when strollers are locked because they may frequently have to move them to make way for more strollers, to clear a path, etc. Is that still the case?

Yes. They have to be able to move them. Many people have posted here about locks causing frustrations because the CMs can't do their job.

I don't think that would be the case with cast members because it can still be moved. It is locked to itself, not anything else. I didn't have any problems with cast members moving mine. And I was wrong in posting that they would have to pick up the stroller to move it. You could pick up the back and still move the front wheels. Someone could still take it but I think it would deter them from taking yours, it would be a lot of trouble.

The cast members can still move the stroller freely. They just have to pick up the handle so the back wheels aren't touching the ground and the front wheels move freely. It is very simple. It is not locked to anything.

haha, my stroller is old and dirty (well I took off the cover and washed it but it still looks dirty). If someone wants to take mine then more power to them.

But really we had no issues last trip. We dont leave anything of real value in the stroller. My wife did forget her I-phone in the cup-holder a couple of times but no one took it (not that I condone doing that as it only take one person to see it and swipe it).

Ah, that's different. In that case, you're all good! :wizard:

I've never had a problem with ours being taken either. But I know it happens more than you think. I've read posts on here about it happening. One of the great stories though was of a family it happened to that Disney replaced everything that was in the stroller and found it later that night after park closing. Whoever took it used it then left it when they were done for the day. All I know is that I'm not walking around all day holding a 2 year old. They get HEAVY! LOL

we had one scare on our last trip. We got to the Disney Jr on stage show just as it was about to begin. There were a couple of strollers right there near the door so I parked ours there too as we ran in. After the show the stroller was gone. It took me 10 minutes to find it as one of the CMs had moved it and it ended up not very close to where we left it (I forget where exactly I had to go). But that was it. CMs moved it a few times on the trip but usually only a little bit from where we left it so it was usually easy to find.

When you have trouble finding your stroller, it's because you put the lock on it and made it difficult to move.
