Can I get some help picking out some great places to eat in Vegas. I don't mind if they are buffets or restaurants. and if anyone knows of any restaurants that have a great (at a good price) dinner special. I have heard that the Bellagio buffet is wonder. Thanks!

The Paris Buffet is really good and a bit less pricey than Bellagio.

The buffet lines for any of the "good" ones tends to be almost over an hour. I refuse to stand in a holding pen like cattle for buffet food. Most of the good restaurants take reservations and treat customers with respect.

We did the Sunday brunch as the Wynn.$$$ but wow was is amazing from eggs to prime rib. Can't forget the amazing deserts.

Also if you like Mexican TI has a great place to eat..Just don't recall the name

Eating in Vegas almost better than Disney ! LOL I have family in Vegas and love to visit for my reason of EATING ! Best Breakfast buffet hands down not to mention for the price is at Bellagio ! huge buffett with tons of seating so not usually much of a wait ! As for other meals of the day they are all excellent with RIO having probably the most diverse buffet ! Basically if you are eating at a Casino its gonna be good LOL
Good luck and try them ALL hehe

It was also help if the OP gave us a price range, type of meal and some other guidance. Are you looking more for cost, ambiance, etc. Are you staying on the strip or downtown. There are literally hundreds of choices in every price range, food type, dollar amount, etc.

We did the Paris buffet for breakfast. It was very good and we caught it just as they were switching over to lunch. . .kinda got brunch. Our favorite though was the Spice Market Buffet at the Alladin (it's Planet Hollywood now). We went a couple times for lunch and it was excellent! We also ate at the Triple Seven Brewpub. It's downtown in the Main Street Station. They have HUGE portions and the food and brew was good. The place next to the Flamingo (the place with Fat Elvis) used to have a good cheap breakfast special, but I guess ownership has changed so I don't know it they still have it.

A good site to check things out is Cheapo Vegas www.cheapovegas.com

Couldn't agree more! ;) I love Vegas, but frankly Vegas USED to be a Mecca for people seeking out a bargain, but frankly the cheapo buffet that was a walkup with good food is a thing of the past. Vegas has world class chefs and cuisine. We can just leave it at, you get the service and food you pay for in Vegas. Sure there is a better value in Vegas, but the "in general" the more you pay the more you get. I have paid for what is a "typical meal" here in DC and gotten world class fine dining.

One of the absolute best values in Vegas is the steak special at Ellis Island, which is one "Vegas Block" (a long way, but walkable) directly behind the Paris casino and hotel. It consists of a thick sirloin, choice of potato (baked are very large), salad, and green beans for either $4.99 or $5.99. It is not a very luxurious place, but safe and very interesting.

The House of Lords at the Sahara is a very good place to experience an "old school" atmosphere for fairly moderate prices. Round, booth-like tables in a very dimly lit room and good food.

We have eaten at Delmonico's in the Venetian, which is one of Emeril's places. We were not that impressed with the steak (for the $$), but the lobster bisque and the caesar salad (prepared tableside) were VERY good.

Buffets in no particular order:
Green Valley Ranch: Very Good
Mandaly Bay: Very Good
Rio regular buffet: Fair
Rio Seafood buffet: Very Good
Paris: Good
Luxor: Good
Excaliber: Not Good
Sahara: Not Good

These are over a long period of time and things change......hope it helps.

Will you have a car? Are you willing to use it? :)

Rosemary's on West Sahara, about four miles from the Strip, is excellent.

Firefly on Paradise has tapas. Paradise is a couple of long blocks east of the Strip.

See www.everythinglv.com - specifically the forums, and most specifically the restaurant forums, for suggestions; and the deals forum for, well, specials.

Get the American Casino Guide. It's got plenty of two-for-one coupons for restaurants, hotel rooms..

Lucio Ristorante, a little further west than Rosemary's, is also very good.

See www.cheapovegas.com for, well, 'cheap' information and links.

The legendary shrimp cocktail in the diner at the Golden Gate downtown has gone up in price - but with a GG players' card, it's still only ninety-nine cents.

Restaurant.com has plenty of Las Vegas gift certificates, cheap - just be sure to read the rules, which vary by restaurant (e.g. some may require a $35 minimum purchase, some $50; some may be valid for only at least two entrees; many - but not all - are dine-in only; some may be good only for lunch; if a restaurant has more than one location, make sure you're getting the certificate for the right location...)

We were in Vegas week before last and ate twice at Bayside Buffet in Mandalay Bay, it was very good! The lunch is $19.99 and dinner is $26.99 and the only thing I noticed different was at dinner there were crab legs.
The close between lunch and dinner (close lunch at 2:45 or 3 pm and don't open again for dinner until I think 4:30 pm if I remember correctly).
The food was all very fresh and very well prepared.

I love the seafood buffet at the Rio but every time I have been there it's a long wait.

This was a few years ago, but I had the best calamari ever at the Grill inside the Venetian.

We loved the seafood buffet at the Rio. Also enjoyed the Buffet at the Mirage.

Did you post those last year? lol I was going to mention those two. Someone here mentioned before my last trip in Oct 07 and they were good.

I do not know if Rosemary's still does it but last year they had a coupon online for prix fix lunch! Best meal of my trip.

Firefly was noisy! But very good also.

If money isn't an object (when isn't it), I recommend two restaurants at the Palms ... 9 Steakhouse and NOVE Italiano. The Palms is a great property. It's across the highway from the strip ... about a $10-15 cab ride depending on where you're staying (assuming it's on strip).

Both are definitely on the pricey side, but maybe you'll win big at the tables and be able to splurge a bit.

My favorites:

Burger Bar (between Luxor and Mandalay Bay).
Gonzalez y Gonzalez (NYNY)
Mr. Lucky's (Hard Rock Hotel)
Capriotti's Sandwiches (Various locations--one near the Strip on Sahara)
Grand Lux Cafe (Venetian)
Top of the World (Stratosphere) Lunch is an especially good deal. Dinner is much pricier and everything is a la carte (i.e. your $30 steak includes just that--sides are extra)

All of these are quite reasonably priced. A meal for the two of us (appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 non-alcoholic drinks) is around $40.

And, of course, don't forget the Earl of Sandwich at Planet Hollywood!!!
