great ideas for newbies

PLease help all you wonderful disney fans. I have booked my 3rd trip for this Nov to WDW but this time we are taking friends who are TOTAL NEWBIES - no kidding, never been on a plane before. flying 12 nov from lgw with virgin, staying at allstar movies for 2 weeks and have 14 day wdw passes (yes we're disney nuts and will spend every day in one of the parks) Does anyone out there have any totally wicked ideas that we can surprise Reg, Ruth and Dan with. Reg is 70+ but very fit, loves golf, Ruth 50 LOVES disney and Dan is 9 (yes I know what you're thinking but he's a very much wanted late in life child) and doesn't know what to expect. Any helpful hints tips and secrets will be very much appreciated.

Please don't shout at me me for this but I think that as they're "total newbies", to spend everyday in Disney parks wouldn't be the best idea. There is far more to Orlando than just Disney. Whilst I love the Disney ethic and their parks, there is so much more to see and do. How about visiting Sea World where you can touch an feed dolphins and stingrays?

If it's within Disney, a character meal at one of the restaurants? A meal in the Rainforest Cafe at either Animal Kingdom or Downtown Disney? How about seeing the fireworks at Epcot from the lake, I think its called the Illuminations Cruise?

Hmm I'd have to second that - what about Universal? I love that park - it's not Disney but it's a much appreciated part of our Florida holidays...

Will you be spending all of your time together? Maybe they could go do those parks on their own if you don't want to.

We did Sea World first on our first trip and it let us into the whole theme park thing very gently.

I suppose you should also consider the order of the parks - ie do EPCOT first as it's completely different to MK and some people always want everything to be MK once they've seen it...

will totally take on board your ideas thanks for that. plan to have a 'disney meeting' soon so will suggest those to them. I'm just SO excited, I'm not sure its healthy for a woman of my age to wake up every morning saying 'only 8 months and 5 days to go' etc.
I do think tho'that we'll have to do MK on the first day just because I can remember my own first trip, standing there like the kid in the advert with my jaw hanging open. but will investigate universal a bit more

Maybe the adults can do the Segway tour in Epcot. I've heard it is killer fun! It is rather expensive though, so it'd have to be what was in the budget.

also - is the poly luau worth doing?
is the crystal room better than chef mickeys for a character breakfast?
will probably think of another few questions soon
oh, is it easy to book a golf lesson as a resort guest?
how much roughly would a cab cost from all star movies to one of the shopping malls?
thats it for a minute i think!

I can give an opinion on the character breakfast's

Crystal Palace at MK has Pooh and friends as the characters and Chef Mickey has Mickey & friends. I would decide by which characters you would like to meet or even do both
