The Target by me was having a clearance on some selected items. They had a printer bundle package which included a Hewlett Packard Printer Model 5550 and a 2.1 pixel Photosmart Digital Camera, also Hewlett Packard, for $99.98 for both. I really was surprised because they were selling the camera for 149.99 and the printer for 99.99 if you purchased them seperately. Of course I picked one up, I was in the market for a printer anyway. So I basically got the printer and they gave me the camera for free.. What's even nicer was the USB cable for the camera is included, which it isn't if you just buy the printer seperately!

Just wanted to share this. Keep your eyes on the clearance racks at Target!:smooth:

Great deal. I'm in Chicago and wondering which Target you went to. When others were posting their great Target finds I couldn't find anything. TIA

Thanks for the tip.....Might just run to Target after I get off work... any hints on which direction to go - SGT Disney????

I was at the Target in Niles today, but I have seen them at others as well..

Thanks, I didn't get a chance to check last night I will run by the one in Schaumburg today.

Thnaks:)

Thanks, sounds great!

I just called my local target and they don't have any. Oh well, I am still thinking about a digital camera!

It really probably depends on location and how well this item sold I would imagine... It looks like it originally went for $199.99. I was at the Target by me again today and they still had one left.

Does anyone know how the picture quality is?

They have one left, but the guy said it is 148....do the clearance prices differ state to state? I read her once before the Mickey USA t shirts were on clearance after July 4th, but in NY, they were still reg price. Just one more reason for me to dislike this state, I guess...

They could differ by state, or maybe the supply in the store. Those printer/camera bundles were 148 about 3 weeks ago here and came down twice after..

I was able to get one of these bundles, but I have never owned or used a digital camera before :o
How many pictures can be stored on this and what do I have to do if I want to take more pictures?
I haven't opened the box yet, I'm still deciding if we're going to keep it! :p

We went to our target yesterday to decided to buy it. It was still marked for $148 but they ahd the exact and I mean exact camera for $149.99 so we got it for a dollar cheaper with a $99 printer! We get up to pay and she scans it and it rang up for 99.98!!!

I took mine out last night. I have not yet set up the printer...

The camera has 3 settings for picture quality. It has 8 MB of internal memory. At the highest picture setting (2 megapixels) the internal memory will hold 7 pictures. At the lowest setting, I think it is 21.. You can buy an additional Secure Digital (SD) memory card in 32, 64, 128 and 256 Memory configurations which will hold more pictures. It goes in a slot on the side of the camera. This is pretty much the case with all digital cameras where they come with some memory, but you end up having to buy more. I think Target had a 64MB SD card for around 32 or 34 bucks which will hold about 55 pictures at the highest setting. I will probably go buy one today. I took a couple of pictures last night and they looked pretty good. Considering the Camera was 'free' I was pretty pleased.

That's what I paid too. Glad to see you could find one. :D

We purchased it @ $139 2 weeks ago in Stevens Point WI. I knew I wouldn't get back over there (1 1/2 hrs away) and didn't want to chance getting to La Crosse or Eau Claire and not having it.

So far I am very happy with it. I wasn't super excited about the photo software with it (very easy but I was getting grainy photos). I may just need to work with it more. I opened the photos with Microsoft Picture It and they turned out great. It uploads to the PC very quickly and easily.

These are just the first two quick photos off my camera. Nothing fancy - just turned it on, clicked etc. These haven't been edited either for contrast, brightness, color etc.

Also, if you look under jgates on Ebay for current and recently closed auctions in last two weeks- all of those were taken with this new camera.

Actually this HP printer (or at least mine) uses HP 56, 57 and 58 (optional 6 color photo quality) cartridges. I almost bought a Cannon because of it's individual color cartridges. But the 'free' digital camera swayed me.. That and the fact that the printer that I am replacing is a 5 year old Lexmark which only had one cartridge and to replace that it was close to 40.00! Not to mention it takes about 3 minutes to do one color page!! So, 18.00 for a black cartridge is a bargain to me.. ;) But thanks for the heads up.
