Our Walmart(NC) had men's and women's winter coats on clearance when I went in last night. Men's were $13 and women's were various prices. I got one that was originally $45 for $11! It was supposed to be $23, but had an $11 clearance tag on it;)

I would definitely have bought this coat for $23. It is the 4-in-1 systems coat. It has a lining that comes out, and the lining is actually a reversible thin jacket. The outer jacket is a mid-size coat. When everything is together, it is warm enough to wear in really cold temperatures. They had black ones with a small stripe of turquoise and white ones with a small stripe of purple.

Hey, nothing wrong with walmart clothes. They practically give away their dickies and walls jackets at the end of every season.

I saw these 4 in 1 jackets, for the kids and they were really nice but the kids already had jackets.:goodvibes I've found great $1-$3 deals!

I got one of those jackets for my hubby last year. Unfortunately, he's such a warm person that it's TOO warm for him to wear!

I got one of those coats for myself on Black Friday for $18. I hope they have the kids ones at my Walmart tomorrow; DD could use a 2nd coat.

I'm going to go check my Walmart tomorrow. If they have them, I will get a variety of sizes to donate to the school. A lot of kids don't have warm coats.

Just back from 2 different Walmart stores here in our part of NC. Our coats were marked down, but not as much as OP. Mens coats were $19, womens around $23, and girls $25. Neither store had any heavy coats for boys.

Lots of fuzzy hoodies in all the sections (excepts girls) for good prices too.

The cashier thought I was a loon. I bought everybody and new coat and the kids each a new hoodie. The kids things are for next year, but DH and I can wear our now.

Did you happen to notice if they had snow pants (although I guess it could be different in different parts of the country).

At the moment I have my fingers crossed that DS doesn't have a growth spurt before the end of winter and I can't find snow pants ANYWHERE.

Bathing suits? Yes! Snow pants? No.

We don't EVER get snow pants here in Charlotte. LOL!

DH and I were actually wishing we had some for the few times it does snow - the kids would be able to play outside sooooo much longer, but it's probably not worth the $$$.

Sorry I'm no help on that!

DO you have a Modell's near you? I just got for my oldest, 16$ for bib style.

No snow pants here in NC, although they would have been useful so far this winter. I used to find them at the thrift shop when my son was younger. They passed through all three kids and still had plenty of life left in them when they got passed on to another family.

Awesome. I need to go to Wal-Mart tomorrow b/c I'm in DESPERATE need of a coat. Mine is about 3 sizes to big, being that I lost 100 lbs from April 2010.

Msmama...our KMart had 50% off of their snow pants (I think $10 total) and they had TONS of them!! Santa brought my guys snow pants from KMart and they are great!!

I've got to remember that. DS could use a pair of bibs, he's into men's sizes now :sad1: and those get pricey!

Don't bet on it not being worth the $$. I bought pairs for my stepson and son when they were little. Apparently there is a snowpant eating monster in the attic because the little pair that I bought DS is gone for good but I still have stepson's which DD is using for the 2nd year in a row. So SS used them one year, DD used them 2 years (maybe next year but I doubt it) and DS2 can use them as well. DS1 never wore them, we had really really REALLY mild winters. Still, 3 kids and at least 5 (assuming DS2 can get 2 years out of them) seasons of wear makes them worth the $ I spent. It really does extend the time they can be out.

Thanks, OP. I shared your post with DD in South Carolina since I knew she needed a better coat. She bought the same one for $23 and is very happy with it.

If you have an old navy nearby check there. On Friday I bought a wool pea coat for $7.49. I have lost 85 but still have about 50 to go so spending on interim sizes is out of the question.
