Great Deal..especially on airfare

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OMG, I called to book a grand gathering, took care of my family and proceeded to book my sister's family, we both got:

4 nights ASMu
1 day base tickets for 2 adults, 2 jr's
free dining

HOWEVER, CRO gave her a great rate on airfare.....

$129 pp round trip on Air Tran from BWI (Baltimore)!!!

Her total package w/ airfare for her family of 4 including hotel, tix's,
free dining came to....

$1249.32

Now that is an unbelievable deal, of course, I am flying out of NY and my airfare is a lot higher than that.

For those of you that can fly Air Tran, CRO said this offer is only good if booked thru them and it is good for any airport that Airtran flies out of to Orlando!!!

here's hoping that helps even more people save money!!!!

What is CRO? I can fly with them and so far they are the cheapest booling through them.

CRO, is the central reservation office. It is the 407-w-Disney phone #. When you call to make you hotel reservations, they can also book airfare for you and this is a special promo that they have going on right now.

It is an amazing deal that coincides w/ the free dining, that is as long as Air Tran flies out of your local airport!!!!

When you call to make the free dining/hotel reservations, ask about this Air Tran special it is 129.00 pp round trip anywhere in the US that AIr Tran flies out of to Orlando!!!!!!

I tired to get this out of Boston without luck. I know trans air flies out of Boston so I am not sure why I couldn't get the deal. Anybodyelse try from Boston

We tried to get this out of Seattle which is on their routelines but no deal either. Do we need a code or something?

I couldn't get any deal (anything better than air tran's own site) from San Francisco either. My guess is the $129 is only good on non stops? They don't go to Orlando from the west coast w/out stopping in IN or ATL. If anyone has other info I'd appreciate it. :sunny:

LuvAriel, what were your dates? Also, do you mean one park per day tickets, not just one day tickets? Thanks for posting. :thumbsup2

I called for a friend and the flying dates are Aug 13th thru Oct 4th.
I just asked for the Air Tran $129 flights out of Moline which is the closest airport to here that has Air Tran.
That's what I was able to get too. Maybe there weren't any flights available for your dates. I also priced the free dining too of course for them

It was just under $800 for 1 person, 4 nights at Pop with park hopper tickets, free dining and the airfare. There were taxes added to the airfare too which always happens.

edit:
It was for ASMU...Pop wasn't available.

I tried for Seattle too. The flight schedule looks like it hasn't been released yet; service starts 5/28. We figured that is why we couldn't get it. I would die at that rate! Less than $500 for all four of us! I think I am going to call Airtran and ask if they know when the schedule is coming out.

Do you have to have the Disney Visa for the flight deal?

DH and I are traveling 9/30-10-9. I tried to get this out of Chicago and they said they didn't have any flights. The airfaire they found was over $350/pp round trip. We can definately do better on our own.

Congratulations on such a good deal!

For those that can fly Air Tran there are some web specials for August when I check my city for $89 one way...it's not the 129, but it's still a great deal from where I am.

No Disney Visa for the Air Tran flights.

However, I do remember him asking me if I had a code. I said no and then he typed something in. Not sure if it requires one or not.

You are allowed to buy just 1 park ticket per person and still get the free dining. You don't have to get a ticket for each day you are there. So if you have an anual pass or already have tickets you can still get the free dining.

Thanks, Kathy, I realize that. I wondered what the OP got, ie whether her price included 4 day passes or just the 1 day tix.

I just called myself. Checked Aug and Sept dates, no Air Tran deals out of Boston. :(

Re: Seattle: They do have the schedule, but it isn't showing up online for some reason. Two outbound flights, departing SEA at 12:30p or 10:30p and three return flights departing MCO at 6:55a, 3:25p and 5:20p.

They only have their schedule open until 9/5, so maybe this promotion will last a few weeks longer and the flights will show up to book thru WDW. :wizard:

Sorry Everyone, I have been cooking dinner for the family & putting the kids to bed so I have been off of the boards for a while...

Anyway, I will try to answer all the questions,

I called to make free dining ressies for my family and was quite successful, when I told my sister about the great deal I received she asked if I could do the same for her.

So I called back and when I told the operator that I wanted to get a room for my sister's family, they transferred me to Magical Gatherings because we were now a party for 8.

So I booked my sister a perferred room at ASMu for 4 nights, 4-1 day base tickets (2 adults, 2 jrs.) and the free dining which came to $661.32.

As I was about to get her confirmation # the agent asked if she needed airfare, I was surprised because I did not think Disney could book airfare, she asked where they were flying from, I told her BWI (Baltimore) and she said she had a great promo rate on Air Tran for $129 pp round trip on non stop flights!!! It came to $588.0 w/ tax for 4 people!!!

Obviuoly I knew this was a great deal, however, I did not want to spend my sister's money, so she held the ressies for me, I called my sister and she of course immediately called back and book the entire deal for:

$1249.32 for 4 nights perferred room at ASMu, 4-1 day base tixs (2 adults, 2 jrs), free dining, and 4 round trip airfares (non stop).

Now that is an unbelievable deal, and of course doesn't apply to me because I live in NY and Airtran does not fly from the major NY airports :guilty:

the only thing I can think of is that b/c I wass transferred to Magical Gatherings, I was able to get a good rate on airfare?????

here is a link to the transportation board that also discussed this rate.

I hope this helps

Thanks for the information!

I just got off the phone with WDW reservations and I added the flights from BWI to Orlando for my September trip. The total after taxes and fees was $441.30 for 3 of us. Now I don't have to wait and worry about SouthWest anymore. :)

See I KNEW I wasn't crazy the CRO told me the same thing as the OP, EVERYWHERE with AirTran thru WDW to Orlando round trip $129. I called first thing this morning and got a CM named "Velma". She said the deal didn't apply to Chicago and Milwaukee. I told her about my convo with the original CRO over the weekend and she said "oh you must have misunderstood her". I had her repeat herself and I was in SHOCK, not so much for fares from Chicago/Milwaukee, but I was thinking places like Baltimore and Seattle wouldn't get those kind of fares (I used to make flight arrangement for cancer patients to get treatments). So I did what every respectable DIS'er would do I hung up and called right back and I got VELMA!!! :rolleyes2 So I told her "wrong number" and hung up :lmao: (after all those prompts I wouldn't know I was calling Disney).
I was annoyed with the CM from the weekend but I decided maybe this Velma wasn't as smart as Scooby Doo's Velma so I called back and got the deal, but my flight choices were WAY limited because of not getting it taken care of with Velma. As I was looking into options with the CRO who booked for me, flights were getting booked for that fare. I ended up out of Midway (2nd choice) and our return flight choices were noon or 8pm, both connecting. Anyone want to pick me up on the South Side of Chicago at Midnight?????

My return flight stops in Atlanta and I got the deal. In my previous post I mention a misinformed CM, maybe that happened with you. I'd try again. I was told it wasn't available in my cities and lo and behold 30 mins later it was.
Oh and if you get "Velma" say "wrong number" and hang up LOL

We fly out of Moline, and already booked our own flight, but I have a few questions:

Is this an evening flight?

What was the total airfare after taxes?

Pop wasn't available?? That's not a good sign as far as crowds go.
