For Valentines night I took my wife (UKANGEL) to our favourite restaurant Cerise in Reading http://www.theforburyhotel.co.uk/enter.html the food was as always exceptional but the service was poor which was very unusual. So I complained, we had a quick reply and the offer of a meal for two and bottle wine, I accepted.

So on Saturday we headed out, when we arrived I had a couple of G&Ts and Mandy had a couple of Cosmopolitans.

We ordered a bottle of sparkling water and a bottle of Malbec,

To Start, Mandy had the Duck Consumee and I had the Squid, Paprikaand Lime Rissotto

Mains, Mandy had the Lamb which was incredible and I had a fantastic organic ribeye

Afters, Mandy had a pineapple thing and I had cheese, the cheese board is out of this world.

To wash that down we ended up having 3 glasses of port and 2 double expressos each.

So At the end I ordered the bill to pay for my bits, and the manager rushed over and refused to accept any payment whatsoever for the meal.

I have to say that as customer service goes that is off the scale, I will return again, and I will recommend the place to many many people.

It just goes to show its always worth complaining!

Glad they looked after you on your return visit :thumbsup2

Sounds like an incredible meal Mark:)

Glad to hear that some companies value their customers and take the opportunity to rectify their mistakes.

By simply offering to correct the mistakes, they have kept your custom plus any potential custom from people you relay this story to.

Its good that they put it right for you- would you still have considered the Lamb incredible and the organic ribeye fantastic if you had paid for it? if so then they have done their job, and thats good to know.:goodvibes

I would have gladly paid for those courses, it really was great. I will be going back again shortly.

They are trying for a michelin star, so if they get that, it will be more difficult to get a table.
