Last week I asked our wait staff, all three of them, if they had any Gray Stuff for dinner. None of them had any idea what I was talking about. The Main Server checked with the higher ups and told me it was only in the parks. Rats! Maybe it hasn't made it to San Diego yet, surely the truck is on its way from Orlando...can only hope.

I've never seen it on any of the ships. Maybe if they do a Beauty and the Beast theme room then they will have it available.

Lumiere's on Disney Magic is Beauty and the Beast themed, but it has never had the grey-stuff.

The name is pretty much the whole theme. I was thinking more along the lines of the Rapunzel and Tiana restaurants

OK, we don't go to the parks, so have to ask, what exactly is the grey stuff? (I know since you're talking about it being served in the dining rooms it's some kind of food, but exactly what kind?)

It's kind of a cookies & cream mousse. They serve it at Be Our Guest (a restaurant in Magic Kingdom at Disney World), as the frosting on a cupcake at lunch and in a white chocolate Chip teacup at dinner.

Just watch the song "be our guest" in Beauty and the Beast.
The grey stuff is delicious ;)

Sounds yummy, glad to see it's a dessert. I was a little afraid that it was some sort of main dish, couldn't imagine how they could make a meat dish grey and good, lol!

They have it at Red Rose Tavern in DLand as well:
shortbread base with the white chocolate mousse-covered, raspberry-centered red velvet cake for a mix of the most decadent flavors you’ll find in Disneyland.
Lumiere was right, it is delicious!

When we had the grey stuff at the BOG restaurant in WDW it was more of a pudding and looked greyer than the pictured stuff in the above-referenced recipe. They also served it with edible pearls on top. The flavor was, um, interesting.

I had the grey stuff cupcake at Be Our Guest lunch at WDW - it was good, but nothing to write home about. However, what a beautiful restaurant BOG is.

Kermit Approves of a BOG restaurant, 'cause it ain't easy being green[/QUOTE]

So you're saying if they ever serve the "green stuff" it might involve a frog? Yikes!!
