Gray Line tour from San Diego

Have any of you taken the day bus trip Gray Line offers from San Diego to Tijuana? It is one of the options with our San Diego Go Cards, and I'm wondering if it is worth the day or half day that the trip takes. My DD is 6, if that makes a difference in what you think.

Not if my life depended on it (and it might)! Because of a rise in drug-related murders, there is a travel advisory against most of Mexico. Stay away! TJ has a bad reputation on its good days!

I grew up in San Diego and have lived here my entire life. I've spent many, many vacations south of the border as a child. I've always been very comfortable in TJ, but in light of things now..... yeah, no way in the world would I take my kids (6, 4, and 3) there. Don't go. Too many other SAFE things to do in San Diego.

Thanks so very much. I had thought about danger, but thought that was just some prejudice on my part. I was mostly thinking that it might be boring for DD6, so I'm very glad I asked! Are there specific sections of San Diego we should also avoid, due to drug traffic and crime? Our hotel reservations are at the Best Western Harbor View. Is that area OK?
