Gratuity for Oceaneers Club/Lab?

This video drives me crazy with how inaccurate many of their statements are. They did one cruise and are now posting like they are experts - which they clearly are NOT. I feel bad for people who haven't cruised that are combing the web looking for helpful info and run into this video. It's really a disservice to the people they are "helping" and they should just remove it but I'm sure they are just looking for an easy paycheck from You Tube.

That's why these forums are so helpful. There are so many videos, from so many people, that often have conflicting information (alcohol, power strips, etc.). I realize most people are just trying to be helpful, but sometimes conflate their experience with what the rules are/what should be.

Thanks for the tip! I had already discovered his blog (and subscribed to the podcast). That's where I found out about the Fantasy drydock details. I also downloaded some Navigators from a similar cruise.

It's useful to hear that kids club staff don't get cash tips. On NCL, that is something we have to bring cash for. (Happily. They earn it.) One I can cross off the list.

I must confess I watched this one and freaked when they mentioned tipping the club staff. I read the comments and found it had been corrected, but it certainly speaks to their credibility. I've also found you really need to check the date of the video to make sure the info they're giving is current. Reminds me of the "you can believe everything you find on the internet" Abraham Lincoln

The only 'charge' for the club/lab is the oceaneer band which is $12.95 for each one. That is refunded to you if you return it before midnight on the last night, or guest services at any time.
Anything the kids do inside the clubs are also 'free'. Any food they eat or activities they do. If they do Friendship Rocks, they get a free shirt, a pillowcase at plutos, they might come away with bags, water bottles, hats, sunglasses....all included.

If you do keep the band, you can bring it back on future cruises and not be charged for a new one.
