Grandma has decided to come for the first 3 nights of our stay at OKW in March. I changed from 1 BR in HH area to a 2 BR L/O in HH area and then will go to a 1 BR HH for the last 2 nights of our stay after she leaves.

She'll be driving over from the Tampa area and will probably arrive to OKW before us. As long as her name in on the reservation she'll be able to check in first, correct? Also, which bulidings in the HH area are HA and have they been renovated yet?

TIA

Buildings 13, 23 and 26 are HCA in the HH area. As long as she is listed on the reservation she will be able to check in if she arrives first. Hopefully you have already requested a HCA villa - that is a special guaranteed request and handled thru Special Services via MS.

I would expect that almost all OKW buildings will be renovated by March, 2011.

Enjoy! :)

Thank you. Do the buildings you listed have elevators?

No, the only buildings at OKW with elevators are 62, 63 and 64. Those buildings are not included in the "near" HH category. HH includes buildings 11-14 and 23-26.

62-64 are very near HH, but not included in the guarantee category. If you do need a HCA villa, you should make sure MS is aware of that fact and see if they can make that change.

HCA villas are found in Buildings 13, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 34,42,48, 50 and 63. Other than Building 63, all other HCA villas are on the first floor of these buildings.

Here is a description of the OKW layout.

Do you need HA because of a wheelchair or only because of walking issues? If it's just that she can't do stairs, then I would stay with the HH catagory and request a first floor for medical reasons.

If you request and get a HA unit, the counters will be lower and some cabinets missing to accommodate a wheelchair, and the shower will be roll in instead of step in. If those are features you need, then reserve the HA unit, but if you are only concerned about stairs etc, then I'd request 1st floor for medical reasons. No need for the inconvenience of the full HA unit if it isn't what you need.
