I'm thinking of doing a 25 point add on direct from Disney at the beach club or boardwalk. I'm currently own animal kingdom resale. since animal kingdoms contract ends in 2057 and beach clubs and boardwalks ends in 2042. Would I be grandfathered into the end of the animal contract or the boardwalk of beach club for all the benefits of the dvc member.i would think till the end of boardwalk or beach but just want to ask.:-)

It would be the end of beach/boardwalk as it's a separate contract. At least to my knowledge that's how it would work.

None of the three properties you mention (Beach, Boardwalk, Animal Kingdom) have 'grandfathered' contracts. Any contract purchased for these will be assigned the appropriate expiration for each with no regard for purchase source.

You’re question is, as I understand it, if you have an AKV post 4/4 contract and a direct BCV contract, will you still qualify for AP discounts in 2043?

I don’t think anyone can really answer that question with any authority. We don’t have any empirical data about what happens if soneone sells their qualifying contact. Based on what’s written down, I’d assume you would not longer be qualified for Membership Extras at that point. But lots can (and will) change in the next 16 years.

As supersnoop says no one knows, but don't buy expecting it to continue after 2042. So much could change, we may all not have extras then, or in 5 years. Also I imagine it will depend on whether DVC manages to program its IT to effectively remove the privileges that blue card (retinal scanner, facial recognition I doubt we will have a card by then) currently brings when the qualifying part of the membership ends or whether they even want to do this. If I were personally buying mainly for the perks rather than the flexibility of a couple of nights in Boardwalk at 11 months every other year, I'd buy AKV. Also if you ever want those concierge and value rooms at AKV your 25 points elsewhere will not help you much. It also comes to an end much earlier and will be worth nothing when you could still sell on your points if they were AKV. In other words you should really want that 11 month advantage with those 25 points to waive away all the other potential benefits of getting it at your current resort.

Is your plan if you purchase just 25 points at BWV or BCV to bank and borrow and use three years of points for each stay? 25 points as a standalone does not go very far unless you plan on buying more resale at this same resort.
