A newbie here. I have been lurking for some time on this board. Wonderful information. You all seem so educated about the different resorts.
This will be our first trip to Walt Disney World and I am very obsessive about my accomodations. In fact it's the most important thing to me. We are looking for something very nice with luxurious rooms and lots of amenities.
We are 2 adults who will be flying in from Las Vegas, renting a car and staying for 8 nights.
What would be your choice of the three resorts? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much.

In my opinion you can't go wrong with any of these resorts. I am partial to Cypress Harbour and Grande Vista. My family and I have stayed at these resorts numerous times and love them, in fact we own at Grande Vista. We have never stayed at Vistana Village but pass by it everyday on our way to the parks, looks very nice.

i agree all these resorts are really nice and you can't go wrong with any of them. I have stayed at Vistana Villages in the past and had a great time. The resort is new ,lots of facilities and beautiful rooms. Having read some of the posts it looks like they are doing a 5th night free promo with hotelmartusa and have had great reviews . Cypress Harbor and Grande Vista both look great also and have received great reviews.

most tuggers like Cypress Harbour a little better - I have stayed at the Grande Vista Resort - it is absolutely beautiful - reminds me of disney's OKW - a very lovely timeshare.

Thanks to all who replied. I feel better now. I have one more question. As the guest of an RCI member am I entitled to housekeeping services? Does it depend on the resort?

I don't think so as RCI - it is probably handled as an exchange - so you will be treated as the owner of the timeshare.

You can ask when you check in - how much extra maid service would be.

As stated above, you can't go wrong here. Have stayed at all three. Cypress Harbor is the oldest, Vistana Villages is the newest. All have elaborate pools. Vistana Villages probably has most elegantly decorated units I've ever seen. Not sure of my favorite - possibly Cypress Harbor.

I am curious about the Marriott/RCI connection though. Some of the older Marriott's have dual RCI/II memberships, and Cypress Harbour is one of them. (although, in the RCI book it only has a one line listing, not a full listing, so I think the RCI exchanges here must be minimal). Grande Vista is not listed as an RCI option. As far as I can tell, Grande Vista is II, Vistana Villages is RCI, and Cypress Harbour is both.

Thanks John. Silly me, I guess Grand Vista is off my list. I am leaning towards Vistana Villages. I called the resort and housekeeping services are available for $42 per day. Maybe every other day would be nice. Thanks for all the feedback.
