We just arrived home last night from our two week trip and it was busy and alot of fun. We arrived on May 23rd and have to say that the check-in was a little crazy for me, I felt really rushed and didn't know what to expect with them taking all our stuff and tipping etc.

But we had 3 nights in the Grand Villa and my only disappointments were the shower heads and having only one small bag of dishwasher soap, they told me I would have to pay $1 for another bag. Seemed crazy to me and the shower heads were the rain showers and they had no pressure and it took forever to get the soap out of my hair. Then on Wednesday we had to check out and have all of our stuff held til our 2 bedroom became available and one of my DD's cried when we went to our new room because she said NO this isn't our room, it's too small but then WOC was just starting to go so we had a great time checking out our new room. Then on Thursday we got a second two bedroom for the grandparents and other family who arrived Wednesday night and had to spend one night at the HOJO, so I got to check that out and was so thankful we were able to stay in the Villas for our first trip! It really was great being a part of the magic the whole 7 days we were there. I will write more later but just wanted to say the Villas' were great. I think they need a few more dishes and stuff, I think they didn't plan for people to really cook!

Glad you had a great time, can not wait to get to the 1 bedroom. I think the villas are set up to do the basics and get folks started, like the maid service.

Well, I can tell you that when you are in the villas at WDW, you can request additional of just about anything and there is no charge. I usually ask one of the Mousekeepers in the hallway and they are glad to get whatever you need. I think VGC is just not used to DVC people and their needs yet. It will come with time. :goodvibes

Were you able to do that on your recent visit?

She did say they were trying to still figure everything out. I just called guest services because we had a family of 11 staying there and supposedly the container was only suppose to be able to do one load but I made it last two loads and then I had to ask about the garbage and said it would be helpful if they had a recycling bin but after watching the TV I see that Disney does their own recycling so you don't have to. :-) but it made for alot of garbage if you weren't doing the dishes! I said it would be nice to either have more garbage bags or more dishwashing soap. I said I've been to other timeshare places and that was always provided. I expected to bring my own laundry soap but not dishwashing soap.

The cupboards in the 2 bedroom had no pantry space to speak of so that was hard after moving from the 3 bedroom. Also when we had to move rooms they had to keep all of our refrigerator and freezer items and told me they bought refrigerators and freezers for just that purpose so that was great but no fun. Next trip I will plan things a little differently.

I wanted to make pancakes but there was no pan that could be used. They only had a stainless steel frying pan so next time I will bring my own pan.

I think you mean "a part". The way you wrote it means the exact opposite! ;)

Glad you had a great trip... now lets see some photos of the grand villa! :)
