Grand villa at 7 months

I am a SSR and AKV owner, and we are planning a large family vacation in October. I don't have enough points at either resort to book a GV but do have enough combined. What are the chances I could get a GV for 5 nights at SSR at the 7 month window so that I can combine my two contracts for the reservation?

Book higher demand nights within the 11-7 month window. Add on the other nights when the 7 month window opens. More likely to work. Use otu points if you don't have enough in your SSR contract.

We own at the same two resorts and have booked GV's a few times under the same scenario. We have even gotten GV at 4 month mark with ease at SSR (for January, though). I think you'll be fine.

Thanks for the info. One option I would have would be to book 4 nights and then when the 7 month window opened I could have the option of adding either a night before or after that stay to get me to the 5 nights we want. Would that be a good option or should I just wait to book the whole 5 nights at once?

Book the 4 nights as soon as you can, so you have them! Then add the 5th night at 7 months. No need to be wondering whether you'll get those 4 nights!

If past history repeats itself, SSR GVs will be open at 7 months out the entire month. AKV Kidani also presents a good chance with some risk otherwise for some days between the beginning of Columbus Day weekend to the Tues of the weekend after that. AKV Jambo may be somewhat more iffy even for some other days in the month. Booking as many nights as you can at each resort now and then change one of those later is the best strategy because the fewer days you have to get at 7 months out, the higher the chance of finding it open. If you want to book now at only one resort I would likely choose AKV Kidani because it has the higher risk over SSR of being unavailable for multiple days at 7 months out, but the lower risk of being unavailable for one or two nights in relation to Jambo.

Don't forget you might also use 2-3 years of points from either resort (SSR/AKV) by using banking and borrowing. That might be sufficient to help you book the complete reservation at either property using multiple-years-of-points from that one property?
