This is what's happening in Texas.

Funeral homes are running out of storage space for the deceased or facing delays of more than a week to bury bodies. Crematories are backing up.
The federal government has dispatched mobile morgues. Refrigerated trucks are popping up behind hospital wards and funeral homes, bodies wrapped in plastic or sheets lined up on their floors.

Not in my part of Texas. And I’m outside a major city. I’m sure it’s possible but it’s not ALL of Texas.

I wish we could see the daily data on the common cold and flus. Corona virus is a cold. We get our viruses from animals. The common cold is caused from housing pigs and chickens together.

I don’t know what tin foil hat site you use to gather your information, but you’re wrong, on all of it. To say covid is a cold is ridiculously deceptive.

Oh good lord. I mean, it's great if your county is acting responsibly. Most places in Texas aren't, which means if you do get sick there isn't room for you.

Exactly. I mean, it's not going away people. Florida, Texas, and California all have massive outbreaks, but plenty of other states are in trouble too. And since many of the states in trouble are 1/2 open or more....well, it's not going to be contained. We are going to be in this horrible sort of purgatory for another 9 -12 months if Dr Fauci is correct in his guesstimate that wide-ranging availability of vaccines is looking like it's few months into 2021 at the soonest. Until that time we're going to have a lot of starts and sudden stops with partial and complete roll backs. Turns out that leaders who are legitimate pandemic deniers....doesn't work out too well. They tried to pretend that all was fine beginning on May 1st and tried to cheerlead us all back into the economy like cult members who had been hitting the kool-aid a little too hard.

In the meantime, we look to a place like corporate america to lead the way. They're mandating mask use in their stores. And now Walmart is way out ahead of Black Friday...and will not be open on Thanksgiving Day. Nothing will be the same for the next year....nothing.

I’m glad it’s better where you live, but it’s clear that parts of Texas are overwhelmed. I am concerned that it may overwhelm your area too. In my state a few months ago many of the people in the collar counties of Milwaukee were pretty smug that MKE had a lot of cases. Now they are on the uptick.

Yes I understand positivity rates. As I have said the number of positives has increased because more tests are being taken. Not all states remove duplicates. Not only that but if there are false positives they don't remove the original positive test. Not sure if that is on purpose. There doesn't seem to be a daily report on the amount of false positives. Not to mention if there are tests giving out false positives then the testing itself is still trusted? Just as people say others think this is a hoax and some disagree, think about the fact that people are believing what they are hearing about it. When the number of deaths caused by covid skyrocketed, the number of deaths caused by things like heart attacks,stroke, etc. decreased. We already know they were fudging the numbers by listing peoples cause of death as Covid 19 without even testing for it.

I challenge everyone to do their research. This is a highly politicized virus. Don't be a sheep and really do your OWN research. Wait until November. Like the groundhog on Groundhog day this will either disappear quickly or continue on depending on who wins the election.

Congratulations. You caught us. We can freely admit this now because it's too late. Nobody can do a thing about it. The entire world is in on it.

You gotta admit though, its kinda impressive for the entire world to be in on this conspiracy all over something happening in USA in November! Must have took a crazy amount of planning for such a conspiracy!

Yup. This virus is relentless. As soon as any country gets a little lax, community spread starts again. I suppose in our country, we'll have to determine by state if we're in a second wave or not. The southern states won't crush the curve because they're not shutting down. So they're going to be in one long punishing wave. In the northeast, we shall see what happens once people congregate indoors again, if that is allowed to happen. For now we all seem to be doing ok with outdoor dining...etc. If we progress to indoor dining and that kind of thing, we'll see an increase in our cases in NJ, which I would say would qualify as "wave 2".

As people have noted, even in low incidence countries, all it takes is one case in an unmasked, crowded in-door setting to cause mass spread event. South Korea, Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore, France.

This will be with us until a vaccine will help tamper things down the risk of transmission/infection when unmasked+close proximity.

Indoors winter will play a significant role in the northern states unfortunately.

Perhaps but I think the point was that NYC cannot continue outside dining into the winter. Then what?

What happens when winter comes and the weather changes and you all have to go indoors? Outdoor dining won’t be an option, so does everything go back to curbside? I’m not saying it’s the wrong answer to do so, but the weather does play a factor in all of it - across all states.
