I don't believe our southern states are spiking because of air conditioning. Many of them use A/C all year round. Honestly, it's a direct reflection of being open and not following the guidelines of keeping a safe distance apart and wearing a mask. Certainly even that is not 100% foolproof, but doing what they've been doing has just been a disaster.
I think the heat in the south drives people indoors to restaurants, bars, etc. Once inside those establishments, any person wearing a mask can take it off to eat/drink, opening themselves up for contracting the virus. Alcohol is a contributing factor as well, especially with younger people. It lowers inhibitions and increasing risky behavior. And so people get closer to each other, they get louder when they speak and that's also going to drive up the number of infected.
There's a real irony to this whole thing when it comes to Disney. They're requiring people to wear masks when outside in very high heat/humidity when, if properly physically distancing, that's where they will be the safest. However, when inside a contained space and seated at a table, they can take off their masks. I get it....you can't eat with a mask on. But you're far safer outside with no mask than you will be inside at any restaurant without one.

So Cal;I think if we can learn anything from TX, AZ and FL it's that being indoors with lots of people with no masks is not wise. I will not eat in restaurants at this point.
So Cal;
Let's not ignore the proverbial elephant in the room though; the biggest source of spread BY FAR has been in peoples' own homes. They invite friends or family over, someone has it and doesn't know, and who wears a mask in their own home? You are far safer in a restaurant, and, as much as it kills a lot of people, it's still not safe to host or visit your friends and family INDOORS. Visiting outside is safe, and in fact the the mask isn't even all that necessary.
We, or many at least, know that the most effective and reliable solutions to stopping the spread are the cheapest and easiest thing to do: wear masks and distance. I get what you are saying, though, about a need for treatment.
This virus isn’t a cancer. We shouldn’t have to be spending this much resource and effort into finding treatments and cures for something that’s easily preventable.
Unfortunately, we have people like in this video:
So Cal;
The few restaurants I have entered to get take-out that have opened for dining are having a tough time getting anyone to do it. Tables are widely spaced, and for the most part vacant. Bars have been another matter. I was never much for going to bars before, but would definitely not do that now. We have seen substantial lines for bars in our area and some have had to shut down and re-sanitize due to employee cases of Covid. Nothing like some of the instances in TX and FL though - not even close.

Are we 100% SURE that's bravery?And Disney is a beacon for those Disney fans who are brave enough to travel.

I love America. I love my rights and freedom I enjoy. but let’s also consider others. Yes it’s inconvenient to a wear mask but no one is asking you to wear it 24/7. I also don’t mind social distancing because I like my personal space.
Not only that, but it's a totally non-sensical argument.If I hear one more person citing the First amendment as their excuse for not wearing a mask I will go nuts. When the First amendment was written they didn't even know viruses existed.
