I know this is the wedding board, but we're celebrating our anniversary so this is sort of wedding related! :lovestruc

Anyway, so I booked the Grand One and need some thoughts/opinions on if I should hire a photographer or not.

We are eating dinner before our cruise, so it will be dessert only onboard, plus our server/butler - whatever they wanna call it.

I'm sure if I give him my camera he will take some pictures for us. But I'm wondering if I should hire a Disney photographer to come on board too?

Is it silly or worth it because it's such a neat experience? :confused3

I's just my husband and I on board, so how many pictures would this guy take where it wouldn't be awkward since it's not a large group? We don't exactly want to be photographed the entire time, but some nice pictures of us could be fun.

I looked online and Disney Fine Art Photo charges $350 for a one hour session, which I'm assuming this would count as. Is it a waste (considering we're already spending so much money on this) or a must have (because we're spending so much on this we should have pro pictures to capture it)?

Thoughts??

We did this after our VR - and we just took some pics with our camera and the captain was nice enough to take one or two for us as well:thumbsup2 I don't think I would spend the extra $$$ for the Disney photographer - there are only so many places you can stand/sit on the boat for a picture - and besides - it will be so much more romantic and intimate if it's just the two of you together - hubby and I were also the only 2 - the captain stays upstairs to navigate and so you are free to roam about the vessel - downstairs, inside/outside or upstairs.

It was the most romantic viewing of Wishes EVER - they turn the boat "backwards" so you are sitting on the back deck - just the two of you - music going - and watching the beautiful fireworks reflect off the water (just don't look to the right or left because pontoon boats will be "jockeying" for position as well - :rotfl:

Thanks for your response! I do think maybe hiring a photographer would be sort of a waste. And wow, that is an amazing photo! I hope my camera will take just as nice of a picture!

We just cruised the Grand One for our anniversary. Not only did we hire a photographer but we hired a videographer. We did an anniversary session before the cruise and then they came on the boat with us. I've seen a sneak peak and I'm so glad we hired them.

Did you hire a photographer through Disney or on your own?
