Don't know if this has been asked before or not?!?!? If it has, sorry missed it.
But, how are families/groups chosen for Grand Marshalls in daily parades?
My Husband and I were Grand Marshals in the Stars and Cars Parade in 2003 during our honeymoon trip.
From what I have read the process did not change from how it happened to us.
Oct 17 2003:
We were wearing bride and groom ears, smiling... and inside the park around 10AM-ish. We walked to a sign that was showing wait times - I was looking to see if Tower of Terror was operating, because it had just come out from Refurb.
A CM an came over and congradulated us on our recent wedding and asked us some questions. We had heard most of them before, they were things like..do we come all the time (no - hubby's first trip since he was 6) did we get married in WDW (no) where are we from? (philly at the time).
Hubby is a very friendly and social guy and I do not do so bad myself, so it was easy to talk to her. The last question she asked us was
Do you want to be Grand Marshals in the parade?
of course we said yes.
She said she picked us because: We
do not come all the time, it was a
special occasion for us to be there, We obviously
embraced the culture by wearing bride and groom hats.
I think they look for people who would appreciate the experience, that it's not an every day thing for them to be at the parks, and to make an amazing trip even better. They do not just pick families with kids, either!
We did not ask to be in the parade. We had a natural conversation with someone while we were having an AMAZING magical and romantic vacation.
Don't TRY to get picked...it won't work.
