Grand Marshall in Magic Kingdom parade

Has anyone ever been Grand Marshall in a MK parade? This is my wife's ultimate dream and I'm trying to figure out how to make it happen when we go for her 40th birthday next summer. Can anyone provide any stories or advice?

We were not the Grand Marshall's in the MK parade but we were in the MGM one and as far as I know the selection process is completely random. We were chosen because we were on our honeymoon and wearing our bride and groom ears when we went to Guest Relations to inquire about the Fantasmic Dinner package. The CM we were talking to asked if we planned to be in the park for the parade, we said yes, and she asked if we'd like to be Grand Marshall's....needless to say, I was speechless It was an awesome experience....the CM that chose us told us that at MGM a different CM is able to choose the Grand Marshall's each day and this day was her turn...not sure if that is the case in MK or not....good luck...I hope you have a great trip

i was chatting to a CM at AK once, and she said that if you hang around Africa at around 2ish (if the parade is at 3pm!) they are looking for people then.

Get chatting to what looks to be a senior CM.. ..
that was her advice anyway!! She told me to come back the next day and she would make sure we were CM's but we were going home that day so couldnt do it.

It's really just being in the right place at the right time. I don't think there is much strategy to it or really anything you can do to make it happen. Good luck to everyone who would like to do it. I bet it is great.

1) There is a department to call to request being a Grand Marshall, if
. . . you are in Make-A-Wish type circumstance
. . . you have other serious health issues
. . . you have been a hero somewhere
. . . you are a celebrity

2) You just take your luck at random selection, if
. . . you have no special circumstance(s)
. . . you are (like the rest of us) ordinary


NOTE: Disney does make prior arrangements for Grand Marshall based upon the above mentioned conditions or circumstances. Once you contact them, it usually only takes a short time to get a confirmation call.

I have no experience in that but Id say just ask all the CMs you can to see if theyll let you do it. Theres no hurt in asking! im sure theyd like to have someone who really wants to do it, do it

NO, asking wont get you to do it....actually it will hinder...
