Grand/Magical Gatherings WITH DVC?

Has anyone ever planned one of these Magical Gathering Events? We are planning a trip for our 15th Wedding Anniversary that will include 8 of us (DW, DD-10, DD-7, Parents and In-laws). We will be staying at our NEW DVC HOME - BLT! I understand that there are several activities like: Magical fireworks voyage, Illuminations desert celebrations, Good Morning gathering, etc. Can we do this while using our DVC points@ BLT or do you have to make a ressie at a Disney Value/Mod/Deluxe resort hotel package?

We've done magical gatherings with some of us staying DVC and others not. You don't need a special package. If I remember correctly, there was a special number that you could call to book those activities.

Yes you can book a grand gathering while staying on points. Let member services know and they will email you a grand gathering number that you need to reserve any of the events. Have fun!
