Grand Gatherings...share your experiences at the resorts

I looked for a Grand Gatherings/groups board but couldn't find one.

We booked last night for our last two nights and they set it up as a Grand Gathering. We had to name the group and tell them our occasion. Our occasion is my parents' 35th anniversary. Just wondering if Grand Gatherings experiences are any different from regular trips.

We just got back from a Grand Gathering - 21 of us!- and stayed at the AKL in 5 different rooms. It was great, but there are really no perks. You are given opportunity to book things such as wishes fireworks cruise, illuminations viewing/dessert reception, etc., but these are available for an additional significant cost (per person -not per group). With 21 of us, we just couldn't afford it.
