Grand Gatherings - Any Advice... recent threads?

Any have any advice/reviews on Disney's Grand Gatherings? In particular, we are interested in illuminations at EPCOT with the international dinner.

We were going to do the Grand Gathering at Epcot...never done it....read in other reviews; how disappointing it was, the food was nothing special/ethnic, dessert was good and then yes you do have a reserve area to view Illum. which is great, but no chairs...so you are standing in the reserve area. So we decided to save on the cost/2TS - we rather just use 1TS and stand where we want.

However, if you decide to go...would love to read what you thought of it.

I dont think this menu is nothing special .. I think its quite good

Your well-traveled and fun-loving hostess, Auntie Roz, welcomes you to amazing tastes from around the world. Help yourself to delectable international cuisine served buffet style, where everyone from Grandma to Junior is sure to find a favorite dish.



Live musical entertainment and storytelling activities will be shared by Auntie Roz.
Children and adults will be delighted as some of our famous Disney characters provide fun and excitement when they invite Guests to dance and interact with them.
Auntie Roz will be happy to recognize birthdays and special occasions anniversaries with special songs and personal attention.


Afterward, everyone is escorted to a special reserved viewing area for IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth where they will enjoy an amazing dessert buffet.



Theme park admission is required and not included in the cost of the Grand Gathering.

A friend is going with her GG I think tomorrow...I might not hear from her until she returns in a week but I can definitely let you know...or maybe she'll even return to the boards and tell you herself.

I think that especially if you're there during a busy time, like she is, it would be nice to have a reserved place to watch it. Just my 2 cents.
