Grand Gathering off

Well, I had been planning a family grand gathering for myself (55), DS(18), niece (28), great-niece(3), great-nephew (3 mo.), cousin (47), her DIL (29), her DGD (4), her DGS (9 mos), my DB (51), Mom (75) and DN (6) for August of '09. Well, it sort of fell through. I thought it would be a great way for the little ones to get to know each other, especially since they are close in age and they are into Disney. Well, my DC and her group are moving this August to San Antonio and she said that she doesn't know if she'll have the money with the move and the housing market what it is. I understand but am very disappointment since we have planned on this for over two years! Now we will be one person shy of enough for a grand gathering event.

Oh, gosh, don't cancel. Just give it time and someone will come along with you. It is so much planning, isn't it? I did a GG for me, DH, DS, DDIL, DGS, DD, DSIL, DGD, DD, DSIL DGS, DD and DSIL. It was so much work, and I don't think I would do it again, but it was memorable...and the kids had so much fun with each other.

Hope you get another for your group...

Thanks to all, but I am not calling it off. My niece, her children, my son and myself are going. My brother and his son may be joining us but I don't think my mom will be going. I am still hoping that we can all work something out but I'm not counting on it, just may be pleasantly surprised. Here's to hoping!
