Grand gathering meal prices/ points

If you are a grand gathering group and you want to do a special grand gathering dinner do you have to pay for it or could you use 2 sit down dinners from a dinning plan? the dinning plan is one sit down meal and one counter meal a day, can you do a special grand gathering meal and instead of paying use two sit down dinner points????

In December we were on the DDP and did 2 grand gathering events. We did the Safari Celebration Dinner which is 2 TS credits and Tony's Grand Breakfast which is 1 TS credit. When I made the reservation for our 8, the CM asked if we were on the DDP and I said yes. She told me how many credits it would be and that was it. I did not have to give them a CC or pre-pay for it like the year before when we were not on DDP.

Another grand gathering event is the International Dinner and IllumiNations Dessert Party and it is 2 TS credits. The only other event is the Magical Fireworks Voyage which you can not use any credits to pay for. I'm guessing since its not a meal that why.
