We've never done a GG event before (I guess technically Disney is calling them "Magical Gatherings" now)...planning one for December. It's me, wife, our two kids (DDs - 4 & 6 by then), sister, BIL, nephew (6 months), and mom & dad (treating them to this trip for their 40th anniversary).

Reviews seem to favor the breakfast at Tony's over the two dinner experiences, and the breakfast is only one TS credit, so I think we'll go with that. The VIP spot for IllumiNations is tempting though...

Anyone know which days the Tony's GG breakfast typically offered?

I know it may vary based on season and crowd levels. Anyone done it during the 2nd/3rd week of December?

Thanks DIS peeps!

I just booked a GG Breakfast for early October. I don't know how it varies from season to season. But they told us that we could book it for a Wednesday or a Saturday. They said the Breakfast was scheduled for 9:30 am but that check in was between 8:30 and 9 am. Which I am excited for since the park doesn't open until 9 hopefully I can get some good pictures :) We are only doing the breakfast too I thought it looked like the most tempting of the options! Although we were really tempted by the Safari dinner. The illuminations dinner just got too many bad reviews for us! I hope this helped you out! and enjoy your trip with your family!

I'm curious about this too. We have a Grand Gatherings group going the week of Thanksgiving and this will probably be the one we do as well.
Which characters are there? Also, where are the reviews for these? I've had a hard time finding reviews of them. :confused3 Thanks!

From the reviews I read I think the characters vary I've read some reports of Chip and Dale, Goofy, Pluto, Tony and Mickey and others that say Goofy, Chip and Dale, Pluto, and Tony and then some time with Mickey after the breakfast. Sorry not too much help as all of my info is just research and stalking of other people's posts on the Dis. Reviews vary as they do with all things. But all the reviews that I have found rate this breakfast very highly. And for 1 TS credit with a FP to Mickey's Philharmagic. Singing and dancing with the characters AND a GG pin. I just couldn't pass it up! I will try to post about it and let everyone know how it goes when we go on October 3!

We did this and LOVED it!!! It was over 2 years ago, so I'm trying to remember the details, but here goes...

Make sure they know it's your parents' 40th -- they announce everyone's special celebrations...it's a long list, but we enjoyed our announcement!

Tony was there -- along with Goofy, Daisy, Donald, Mickey & Minnie. They come around to the tables. A photopass photographer came around with Mickey so that you get a great shot of your entire group!

The line they give you is also like a "special fast pass" for Mickey's Philharmagic...if you went there first when you left Tony's, and showed them the pin and told them "Tony sent you" you could go right into the next show.

Breakfast was served family style and everyone enjoyed. Then the characters led a bunch of dancing activities and invited the children to get up and dance with them. Very fun!!!

(We also did the Safari and enjoyed that, too!)

Sorry, it's been two years so I cant say which days it's held these days -- but can definitely say it was fun and worth it!!

Enjoy!!

Thanks everyone, great comments...really helpful! Now I just need to wait for that 180 day window. I called the GG phone number and talked to a CM. Like I suspected, they couldn't tell me which days they'd be booking Tony's breakfast for in December yet, so no help there with planning park days. I'm super excited to add another special touch to the trip! Thanks again.

Hi. We booked the Illuminations dinner/dessert GG for next month. It sounded fun with the good variety of food. Can someone point me to the thread with all the bad reviews? A character bfast just doesn't sound that magical. You can get all the best character photos at Chef Mickeys/and the castle anyway? :confused3
