Hi everyone!!! I don't post much on here but I am always reading and enjoying the posts. I am staying at the Grand Floridian for the first time in just a few weeks. Mid November for a few nights. I am so excited and can't wait!!! Any ideas for something special to do while we are there? Or just any thoughts on what you liked about the resort? It will be my boyfriend and I. We were thinking of having breakfast at 1900 Park Faire but were wondering if that is appropriate for just two adults. We also have made a PS for afternoon tea! I have had Tea there before with my sister and we had the best time ever!! He has a few surprises that he is planning and I am all the more excited. Unfortunately I am a picky eater you might say and we both agree that I would not enjoy Victoria and Alberts. We are not planning on going to any parks this trip.. just relaxing and enjoying the resorts and doing some shopping. We only live an hour and a half away so it is no big deal that we don't visit the parks this time. Thanks in advance for any information about the Grand Floridian!!! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

We have a lagoon view room and are going to try to request a MK view and hope for the best! I am so excited and can't wait!!! Any ideas for something special to do while we are there? You both might enjoy getting a massage or some other spa treatment. They also do a really romantic room service dinner that you can arrange in advance. I loved our stay at the Grand Floridian. It is a truly beautiful hotel.

Regarding character meals, my fiance and I (no kids) love them. We don't feel out of place at all! You may want to eat dinner at Narcoossee's (you can check out the menus for the restaurants at WDWIG.com), then watch Wishes from the veranda. Enjoy the pool and have drinks at Mizner's (lounge on the 2nd floor). Have a wonderful time!::MinnieMo

Thanks crs7568, the spa sounds great and I will have to look into that. A private meal on the balcony sounds wonderful and I think we will most definetely be doing that!! Thanks for the ideas!!

Cinderella37, thanks for the advice on the character meal. I really want to go and I think my boyfriend already made a ps for it but I just wanted to make sure we wouldn't be out of place. I checked out wdwig.com and the restaraunt sounds great! I can't wait to view wishes from the balcony if we get the view we request!! I can't wait to go so thanks to both of you for the ideas.

GF is beautiful. The breakfast buffet at 1900 Park Fare is very good(a cut above the other buffets on site IMHO). When we stayed there they had beautiful, soft, plush towels and you could buy them. If they still have those, buy a couple as a souvenir.

Hello!

First off Congrats on being able to have a relaxing getaway. I hope your planning on getting a Manicure before you go? Could it be? Sounds funny. Anyway. We have stayed at the GF several times.

First I would request a Dormer room in Boca Chica.
It's farther away from most everything, and the views are Beautiful. Narcoosee's is right outside the building if you like the food there. It's a little pricey but FANTASTIC, you could time dinner just before the Fireworks and ask for a table by the window and the view of the fireworks from your table would be sooooo romantic.

Second, we have kids so I don't know if you might like this but the 1900 Park Fare Restaurant has the Cinderella's Gala Feast at night and it is a GREAT Buffet. It might be nice to have Cinderella, Prince Charming (since you will be with your prince), Suzi, Perla and the Fairy Godmother (spreading some pixie dust). There were a lot of couple's without children when we were there and they were all having fun and getting pictures.

Third, RELAX on the beach in either a hammock or lounge chair. Since you won't have park time to worry about, that would be so nice to relax and talk. (Maybe about your future ;) .

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask. I have been there several times and absolutely LOVE this resort. I have children so there is a few different things that I love.

Have a GREAT TRIP! Let us know if anything BIG happens.

Wendi

Micca~ Thanks for the towel idea! That sounds great! That would make a wonderful memto for the trip! I will have to buy some if they sell them!! Thanks so much!!

Wedi~ Hehehe! You are too funny! Of course I will be getting a manicure before we go. ;) My boyfriend tried to get a PS for Cinderella's table but he was not successful. He warned me ahead of time because he knew that I REALLY wanted to go there with him and he didn't want me to be disappointed when we got there. I can't be to disapointed because I am so excited just to stay at the Grand Floridian. I was at first a little though but glad that I know in advance and we will just have to try next time. So maybe dinner at 1900 Park Fare would be a good subsitute instead. I know that he has a PS for dinner one night and breakfast the next morning but I am not sure where. That is why I asked about the breakfast there because I think that is where he made it for but I am not sure. Right now we were only able to book two nights but are going to keep calling to see if we can get a third night! Narcoosee's sounds like a wonderful idea we have never been but I would really like to. Maybe if that isn't where he has already planned for us to go and we can get the third night added we can go there. The hammocks and the beach sound great and I know we will have to do that! We just spent the week over Labor Day at a little island near where we live and enjoyed it so much that it would be special to be on the beach again! Thanks for all the great suggestions!! I really appreciate it. I am so excited I can't wait. Only 29 days left I think wait maybe less!! I will let you know if anything big happens as let's just say it is a good possibility. Thanks again!! ::yes:: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Mandasbutterfly: Maybe you could have a spa treatment. I have enjoyed the spa many times and find it very relaxing. I always feel so spoiled afterwards. You could also check and see if they have a couples treatment. I think you would also enjoy just sitting around the lobby and listening to the music in the evening. I've seen couples dancing and I think that is so romantic. Have a good time. Susan

So you have an idea that that's what might happen.........HOW SWEET! I guess you need to make a trip over to the Wedding Pavilion soon afterwards to get their information :hyper: . I guess you are going to be treated like a princess princess: this trip as well. I would make sure that you get a picture of the room # plaque on the door, just to remember what room you were staying in when he did "it". Sounds hoaky but I have had a few friends say they wished they would have.
As for things to do, 2 days.............they already sound full. I have to say that the one thing that REALLY makes me think of the GF is when I wear my Beautiful perfume. Short story to explain. A friend of mine told me that to really remember someplace, either try a new Perfume that you like, or switch back to an OLD favorite and use it for the first time when you get there. That way you will remember that trip to Disney even more. Well, I thought you she was NUTS  . Well, I did it and I hate to say it but I do think of Disney every time I wear Beautiful now. So needless to say I don't wear it every day, just here and there.
Just a little funny thought.
Have Fun.

Oh wow, you will love this place. I cannot wait to get back. The room service is very good. There is so much to do and enjoy there. Try the spa. PM me if you have any specific questions.

Poohs Pal~ The spa sounds great and I really want to try and fit that in sometime during our short trip! We'll see.. Yes I have been in the main lobby before and it is amazing! My boyfriend has only seen the hotel for the monarail so it will be a treat for him too! Thanks for the suggestion, I really appreciate it!!:Pinkbounc

Wendi~ :Pinkbounc

Yes I have an idea but who knows I guess right! And yes we will be looking at the wedding pavilion while we are there no matter what happens. We are very close and already talk so much about getting married and the wedding. We have been together for 5 1/2 years- this trip is actually our 5 1/2 yr anniversary! We are in college right now and work full time so we are pretty busy at the moment but I think things are starting to happen!! Disney is actually the number one choice for us to have our wedding at. Our moms are really excited to and have been wanting us to get married for some time now hehe! It's great but I won't go into to so much detail here as this is the resorts board hehe! I will take the idea about the picture of the room # plague! Great idea! I never thought of that!! The perfum is a neat idea and I may try that! You have some very unique ideas, how wonderful:D Thanks for all of your ideas! They are great! And I really hope we can add another night to our trip. We are trying our best but are thinking if we can't add another night we may just stay at another hotel for one or possibly two nights but we are really holding out for another night at the GF. You never know there may be a cancellation by then! Thanks again for the wonderful ideas!!! :Pinkbounc

Vlahakis2001~ Thanks for the spa suggestion! I am going to try and fit that in!! I also really want to try the room service!! I can't wait!! Thanks for the PM offer and I will most definetely ask away if I think of any more questions;) Thanks so much!! I appreciate it!!:sunny:
