Having breakfast at the Grand Floridian this trip. I will never be able to stay here so this is my one chance to check out the hotel. Is there any certain sight not to miss at this hotel?Anybody that has stayed here and could point me in the right direction would be appreciated.

the lobby is just amazing so spend some time walking around there, take the time to walk the grounds as well, the landscaping is beautiful! Some great photo opportunities so bring your camera along :) It has a nice sandy beach area as well you can walk along. enjoy! the breakfast is fantastic as well.

OK so my Dh will not be happy but when we stayed one of the best things is the shopping. Also the view from the zero entry pool towards the polynesian and wedding pavillion is worth a photo or two.

I would suggest you come out of the hotel at the back (just next to the DVC desk and the GF cafe) and take a left towards Gasparillas. Just outside Gasparillas is the mooring area for the boats and a lovely place to sit and gaze at Cinderella's castle. We enjoyed watching the monorail go past on the left hand side and watching the boats come and go to the Magic Kingdom.

If you're in the mood, take a stroll down the path to the Wedding Pavillion. It's about a five-minute walk. If they don't have a wedding going on, you can walk in and look around.

Meantime, keep your eyes peeled for weddings in the GF -- it's a choice spot for receptions, and very often The Mice make an appearance. :)

I would recommend walking through the lobby and then going out the side doors (behind the big staircase) and walking over to the Polynesian. The whole Seven Seas Lagoon area is awesome. You will see the Waterfall pool, pass behind the cabanas, which are festive, pass the Spa and then the Wedding Pavilion and then end up at the Poly where you can take the monorail back to the GF if u happen to be parked there, or just your day continue from there:thumbsup2 Nothing too WOW but the whole area is just very pleasant and you will get a feel for what it's like.

I also think maybe walking out to the boat dock and back would be nice b/c the view of the Main Bldg. from that side is quite something :cloud9:
