There may already be a post about this but after seeing the announcement of GFV (?) possible sales this spring and opening late fall we got excited. Then we started to look at maps, and remembered long lines for the monorail and boats and then it didn't seem so fun.

Does anyone know how they are going to manage all the extra people from the villas? Are there or is it possible for another monorail train? Maybe a new boat launch? Seems to far to walk?

Just looking for members opinions

Thx!!

I think the monorail is at its maximum as far as trains for it.

They could possibly add a larger boat, something similar to what Wilderness Lodge had.

I do not think you can walk, the path does not connect!

They could switch to the larger boats, as Sammie said, and there are always more buses. Perhaps something like they have at WL, where you have the choice of a boat or a bus to MK. They could do the same for GF for Epcot and MK - boat/bus/monorail for MK, monorail/bus for Epcot.

Unless they plan to build a bridge over the canal, walking isn't an option. The path from GF ends at the canal where they store the EWP floats.

It is probably going to be more efficient to walk the slightly longer distance to the Poly and board there. (For that matter, debarking at the Poly is probably going to result in getting back to your villa faster, too.):thumbsup2

We got on the monorail at the GF one night last week on the way to the MK. You could barely find standing room in the cars - they were totally packed with all of the other guests who had already boarded the train at the other stops. I think they are going to have serious capacity issues with the monorail in it's current form with the addition of all those new GF villas.

I wish walking to the MK were an option. We always choose to walk to the MK from BLT - it is so much easier and faster than riding the monorail to the MK.

A bridge over that canal would have to allow for the EWP floats to have clearance under it. That won't be a likely option as those floats are around 15 feet tall and would require a long inlcine to reach that level over the canal - and also would need to meet all HCA policies.

Maybe they could use Mike Fink Keelboats and the old War Canoes for a crossing there ? :teeth:

Well, they could build a draw bridge like at Epcot. I bet that was the plan for the "Walk Around the World" which was supposed to circle the entire Seven Seas Lagoon.
