Help!
Does anyone have any info on the Grand Floridian Tower Lodge Room? I'm getting a pretty good rate (I think), but since I've only dreamed of staying at the GF, I want to make sure it is worth it! I have searched all over the web for photos of the Tower Lodge Room, and I can't find anything except that it has more windows, and a seating area, but that it is basically a standard room.
Has anyone stayed there or seen the difference?
Appreciate the help!

Found this picture on the web,

and this one

.

If you want to see any more floor layouts, just click on this link GF Room Layouts . The lodge tower rooms only offer views of the courtyard gardens & pool area.

what time were you planning to go? were looking for fall but tower rms already booked! Id take it....

No problem, I'm a very visual person myself and I feel much more comfortable when I can see an actual picture of something.

The link will give you an opportunity to compare both room layouts and decide what's best.

We stayed in a lodge tower room in February for 3 nights, had a pretty good AP rate....but if you want my 2 cents...I really didn't feel it was worth the extra money. It does have a small sitting area and more windows. It is about 100 sq. ft. larger than a standard room, but in my opinion the standard rooms feel larger. I know that sounds weird, but the way the wall separates the sitting area from the beds makes the area smaller than it probably really is, the wall comes in a little. I was actually a little disappointed in the room, for the price difference. I believe it is approx. $100 more a night. I would save the money and go with a standard room. Also, not all tower rooms have balconies, so you need to request one if that is important to you. And it only sleeps 4 not 5. Saying that, GF is a beautiful resort and you will love it. But if I went back I would definitely go with a standard room. Have a great trip! :flower:

Very helpful Roozlilone! Thanks for the room details; glad to know a balcony doesn't come standard, and there are only pool/courtyard garden views from this particular room (thanx to Tammi for that last bit of info!)

Hi Poohluvrs!
Planning to go during the first week of August 2k5...my 13th Anniversary! Had planned for the GF for my 15th, but I'm not picky! :rotfl2:

Another "no" vote on the tower room being worth the additional cost ($50/nt for us is Dec01). DD was 15 mos old and we thought the tower room would be good for the extra room with the crib and high chair. But it ended up feeling more cramped with all the extra furniture in the room.

We're glad we tried it to take the wonder of the extra space away. But it did confirm to us that it wasn't worth the additional cost.

Happy Anniversary - a stay at the GF is a perfect place to be! WEre not going until the fall, and all of the tower rms are booked....I thought they were neat looking (& obviously popular if booked...) the set up worked for us w/ the seperate seating/tv area & extra tv for our small kids...but if Anniv trip you may not need that....having never stayed in tower room, some of the posts from people who have seem quite helpful., either way, cant go wrong I would think! Enjoy :goodvibes
