Can anyone help? I would love to take my teen daughters to tea, but, they wouldn't enjoy the traditional sandwiches.:sad2: Does anyone know if we could sub ham & cheese or pbj in the adult tea selections?:confused3 They would really enjoy the "Mrs Potts tea" with tea not hot chocolate, but, I'm afraid they are too old to order that. So, does anyone know or can you suggest a phone number to call? Thanks so much :flower3:

There are several kinds of sandwiches, and I'm sure they'd allow you to request the ones the girls would like. And they certainly could order the Mrs. Potts tea with tea instead of hot chocolate; there's no age limit for that.

There's no need to order the sandwiches at all, if they'd rather not. You don't need to order a set tea, there's an a la carte menu with scones, pastries, trifle, strawberries and cream...all sorts of goodies. Or, something like the Sally Lunn Tea (my favorite); that includes toasted bread with apricot preserves, and a choice of trifle or strawberries.

Thanks so much for the info! I was under the impression you had to order a "full" tea and that the Mrs Potts was for under age 10. Thanks again :)

WOuld love more TEA info..as I would love to incorporate this into next year's DD Graduation visit....

Hugs,
Mary

My daughter and I LOVE the tea. Try to find the menu on line. I'm sure more computer savvy disers could help you with that. I am not so good!! We had the Buckingham tea. Little tea sandwiches and pastries. We both ordered the Wonderland tea and really enjoyed it. I know you can order different things and I'm sure they will let you order what you want. The atmosphere is really wonderful. It's a real mother/daughter/girlie thing to do, although I want to add that men are there also! I think you and your daughters would really enjoy it.

Enjoy The Magic!!

DH and I did this April 08 and it was amazing, we were able to customize our sandwich plate, DH doesnt like tuna but likes ham and I didnt like the onion tart so I got another tuna....they are super accommodating at all the WDW TS places

I did the tea with my mom for my birthday last year. I'm sure they would let you switch things around so that your girls get thing they like. They allowed us to subsitute some of the sandwiches. The tea is very relaxing and a lot of fun. I want to do it again.

My girls are so excited thanks for all the info :)

I am trying to talk this up to my 5 year old son. I told him he could dress up like a gentleman and have strawberries, chocolate milk, and yummy sweets. He may just go for it.

We have an English teahouse near our home and my girls love it!! So I thought it would be fun to have tea at WDW ;)

How far in advance do you need to reserve? I tried doing walk-up in May and it was full for the duration of my stay. For anyone who has done high tea at a fancy hotel, how does GF's tea service compare? The fact that their Grand Tea includes sparkling wine and tea (and food) for $25.50 seems like a very good deal; much less than the last place I went (Peninsula Hotel).

I made ressies today (1/14) for 4/1 the Thursday before Easter. I had no problems getting a time of my choice for 3 people. As far as price goes it is comparable with our local teahouse and seems to have a much bigger selection of goodies ;)

We ALWAYS go to tea at the GF at least 2 x during our trips! We really love it, my dh and dd3 go with me and they have fun also....my dh likes the cheese plate. He knows how much I love it so for Christmas he ordered me the alice tea cup set and some disney tea! He even got me 2 tins of tea from the tea room (mad tea party ) and I got him hooked lol We are going to wdw in April so I am calling to make sure we have at least 2 ADRs:thumbsup2

My dd(now 4) LOVES LOVES this place, she calls it the tea party! She gets the mrs. potts tea with all p nut butter and jellys....If you do not like something they will give you more of what you DO like...I always ask for a extra onion tart (yummy) and they do it with no problem, they do not even charge me for it.

My DD and I love the tea also... she has nut allergies and is a vegetarian and they are always very accomodating... they make special sandwiches for her... truly a joy .... I wouldn't miss it...

Is this one thing that you have to dress up for? What are your favorite teas? I'm really not a tea person so don't really know the types of tea. It sounds like fun and something I'd love to do with just my daughter.

We've gone twice and both times I was told that my one dd (who was 11) couldn't order the Mrs. Potts tea but could order the Buckingham Palace tea and substitute PB&J sandwiches for the regular tea sandwiches. It worked out just fine.

We are going for the first time in May. DS loves tea. He'll probably have the Buckingham Palace and DH will have Mrs. Pott's. DH doesn't like tea so he's just humoring me by going. If I like it I'm going to schedule a ladies tea in December.
